After 9 months since I started my project, FINALLY I've released a first beta release of TAM Ethnic Units, which is playable with the latest TAM BTS version.
Download it HERE

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello TAM fans, and welcome into my Ethnic Units project !!! :)

TAM is a great mod, but it misses a own Ethnic Units collection to play with.
TAM veterans ask for EU by far, and now it's time to satisfy their wishes.

Some complete Civ4 EU mods exist around yet, but TAM requires a HUGE number of ancient units that you can't find there. TAM counts 24 ancient civs and special units like javelineer, chariot archer, etc, with different kind of the same unit type appearing through the game eras.

This is the complete TAM unit list:
(units in bold have been finished and you may download the stone age, bronze age, classical age and ancient ships parts for your personal mod)

>>>Archer type<<<
Archer
Composite Archer
Bowman
Chariot Archer
Horse Archer
Heavy Horse Archer

>>>Skirmisher type<<<
Javelineer
Armored Javelineer

>>>Medium type<<<
Tribal Warrior
Axeman
Swordsman

>>>Heavy type<<<
Spearman
Armored Spearman
Infantry
Armored Infantry

>>>Mounted type<<<
Chariot
Light Cavalry
Elephant
Heavy Cavalry

>>>Not combat type<<<
Scout
Spy
Worker
Settler

>>>Siege type<<<
Ram
Siege Tower
Catapult
Fire Catapult

>>>Naval type<<<
Work Boat
Merchant Vessel
Trade Barge
Transport Galley
Transport Barge
Bireme
Trireme
Quinquereme
Fire Galley

40 types x 24 civs give a result of 960 units. Furthermore each TAM civ got 2 UU replacing ordinary units, plus a special Hero unit.
I'm planning to release (and also collecting from other mods) as much units as possible, but it's a HUGE work for a lone man !!!

Stay tuned on this thread to see my progress, and write your hints about unit choices.

:)

If you don't mind, I think I may need to use some of these units in World of Legends. ;)

Because of this thread disappeared from TAM subforum, I resume it to confirm that my TAM ethnic project is still alive.
I'm working on the bronze age unit set, and although I didn't receive here any feedback on my previous stone age set, I assume that "no-negative-feedback" means "to continue my work" :p

In the meantime, I attach an Achilles preview with a joke-quiz for you:
"Where I took his face?"
:)

I think I'll have to nick off more stuff for WoL at this rate, if you don't mind. Some of the default units in Civ4 are fine, but I think some of the units here would suffice much better.

Feel free to use my units because I freely made them using models and textures made by others :)

Who is Indibil's face? :)

Well, I give you the answer and stop this stupid quiz in the next :D

Indibil's face is Russel Crowe from the Gladiator movie.

I refer to the nickname "HISPANICUS" they have chosen for Maximus the Gladiator, although in roman times Spain was called "Iberia", while "Spain" and "Hispanici" were a long way to come!

Just a update about WIP.

I'm working on axemen, and I was thinking to release the first half of my project, just to know player's feedback on TAM EU
Stay tuned ;)

please don't forget to take care of the modern worker and roads... now TAM being 3.19 compatible I think a lot of people would appreciate it

I know the modern worker issue and how to fix it, but what is the roads problem instead?

Ambrox,

he is referring to the Interstate look of the roads in the imperial age. When you zoom in you can see the yellow dotted passing center line.

Gray

PS. did you get my message regarding the missing 6 civs in the loadup of V 3.19?

@Gray
I already answered you on TAMDEV. May be you didn't read it yet.

@Geralt
To fix road issue, I made these road replacements (ancient and imperial respectively)
What do you think about them?

Sir,

Apologies for the ignorance of the question, but in which directory under TAM/ should I place the unit art ? (been working with pc's for a very long time, but quite new to Civ)

Mighty nice work btw !!!
