I was playing a game when at around turn 550ish I got a global warming effect message saying global warming has struck near "city x". Then, every few turns got another one.
I thought that was unusual, I don't know why but I expected the global warming to be disabled with Ffh.

thoughts? also, how can one avoid or prevent global warming? it's not a big deal in Ffh with terraforming and all, but when it hits a flood plain...total bummer.

I was under the impression that in Civilization global warming was caused by nuclear plant meltdowns and exploding nukes, ans that since FfH lacks both of those features it shouldn't be possible here at all?

Must have been no elves that game. No problem, get grab some water mana and Spring it back to plains.

The unhealthiness from the buildings, and lacks of forests / jungles probably made a nuke-free global warming. Interesting!!

+1 for the spring solution... but what happened to the forests?? You would need a TON of unhealthiness buildings, as well as very very few forests to pull that off!!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I chopped down all the trees. think if I converted to FoL and sprung forests in all the tiles I wasn't working that it would help?

or just open world builder and put the trees on that way

Auric, Falamar and Hannah must be pissed.

Auric, Falamar and Hannah must be pissed.

Of these three, only Auric would be displeased. For the Lanun, rising sea levels would lead to an increase in their primary territory. In addition, the newly submerged coastline would act as excellent breeding grounds for a variety of marine wildlife, increasing their food values even more.

As for Auric, yes, he would be a much bigger fan of us entering into a permanent ice age.

Falamar? He's running around with cans of hairspray laughing manically.

The connection of pirates and global warming had been well documented already.

Global warming? Why would they include a fictional effect like that in a realistic game like this?

Yes, but that only affects living pirates. I think a convincing argument would be made that Hannah at least would be pleased enough by rising sea levels and an every increasing army of drowns.
