Hi folks :),

A brand new game... :D

Game settings:

mapscript: up for discussion. standard size
Normal Speed
Deity
Leader to be discussed...
No silly restrictions :p

Beating the AI (or getting beaten :mischief:), discussion, and fun are the focus of this game... 24/48 rule apply...

I will post a save later when we agreed on final settings...

Roster:
Need 5 brave souls to take on deity... Mystyfly showed interest but won't be around untill the end game so we'll start with a 7 men roster and end at 6... veterans from IS2 have priority during next 48 hours...

Something special? I am always open to new ideas, but want to keep this manageable... I will try to find something though ;)
 
I'm interested but won't be able to play any until next week. As per any deity SG, I recommend best ball until ~1000 BC to avoid ugly early game losses. Although it won't matter as much if we start next to Gandhi :lol:
 
OK Shyuhe, I will put you at the end of the roster... any ideas on mapscript/leaders?
 
I'll give this one a miss. Real life is going to be rather busy-and-tedious for the next few weeks. Someone else can be the weakest link.

I like fractal maps and a creative or spiritual leader. Early UU :twitch: for barb-defence would be nice.

So my title-suggestion didn't make it? :p No problem, I even said myself it was silly :lol:
 
I'm interested but not sure how much time I have to commit to this game. Also, I doubt I'm good enough for Deity. :rolleyes:

I suggest using a versatile leader. I'd prefer using Zara Yaqob for fighting off deity culture - barbs also shouldn't a problem with him since you start off with Hunting and Mining, two techs on the way to anti-barb military. Hatty's also good because of good traits and War Chariots.
 
If there's still room in schedule i'd be interested. Like Rusten i don't like best ball, i think you should play a cookbook if you like discussion/voting on saves. It's not that i don't like that but it's really a different and more time consuming format imo. There's often ways to defend early game and if we really get declared on pre 1500 bc we can always restart.

Well, it depends mostly on the team wishes... I am not a deity player, so I don't need to select a crappy leader to feel challenged... but we will if most of the team finds it fun... what are your suggestions then? :p

My guess is that creative is strong, and I like philo/spiritual/org/exp a lot :lol:... that lets choice from a wide range of leaders...

Rusten proposed Louis in IM... Paulus voiced his love for Zara and hatty, Mysty is for a creative leader...

For the map, fractal seems popular, do we go with this script?

I hope we can agree on settings and start the game in the next 24 hours :p

@Shyuhe: I am not sure the "play multiple saves until 1000 bc and choose the best" strategy is the way to go... like others, I think we should play, and decide on a reroll if something dramatic happens... fair enough?

I'll be off this weekend (finishing my matura exams this week) so I'd be happy if I could play a set before I leave... I'll be back a week later though.

I think a creative leader is preferred by many if not most. I'll put my hand up for gilgamesh. Protective is not the strongest of traits but gilg makes up for it with the zigs (will require some thoughts on early techpath as it's worth teching soon but is not that usual) and vultures. Vultures are simply a sure barb-killer unit but will be great if we try to capture one or the other barb city.
 
Gilg's fine with me. Maybe i have played in warlike environments too much lately but i think protective is a strong trait on deity.
 
Well, everyone knows that creative is one the strongest or probably the strongest trait in deity level. I actually love the play any creative leaders. However, I just want to try something a little different than regular play. Maybe a small restriction on the game. Could we restrict our win to space race only? I've seen too many diplomatic and domination won (my ways of winning most of the time ).:p

Hum, I don't think limiting ourself to space race close options. you are still free to use military at any point to gain an edge. Choosing a cultural victory on contrary would be different... what do you think?
@rest of the team: space race or some other idea?

I find hatty more fun too... and spiritual is nice during an SG. do I make a poll of the creative leaders to settle the debate? :p
