The waves softly crashed against the side of the ship, the glorious Sea Beacon, Captain Thoral's pride and glory. The last of the passengers had boarded, and the ship was ready to set sail, but the Captain was restless and uneasy. Looking over Innsmouth, he lifted a pipe to his lips and took a long drag, letting the smoke float away from him as he contemplated those on board.

"Is there something wrong, captain?" a voice came from behind him, and he turned to find one of his veteran crewman approaching. "The weather's fine and the charts're a beaut', sir. Not a better fortnight to set sail. What seems t'be troublin' ya?"

"Nothing, nothing," Thoral said as he mustered an aged smile. "Just m'sea bones are gettin' a tad dry for these trips methinks."

"You're the oldest sea dog we know, Captain. If yer thinkin' of settin' the sails down fer good, you'd find no trouble amongst this crew. You've done a fine job, but the years aren't hidin' from you, no offense, captain."

Turning around to face Innsmouth one last time, Thoral's smile warmed and he chuckled. "One last trip won't kill me."

Not a definite in, but this is an awesome title!

What's the difference between a mini NotW and a normal NotW?

I'm in.

@Snerk: The MNotW are roughly half the size in number of players, hence mini. They are hosted so that the wait for those that die early in the real NotW won't have idle hands for mischief while waiting for that game to end. :mischief:

One could also argue that they make for good introductary games for new players... :mischief: Still kicking myself over the last game...

From what I understand, Lightfang's was postponed indefinitely due to computer troubles.

Cool, just so long as no one has their nose put out...

I'm tangentially interested, but I'm not clear on what such a game entails.

The basic premise is that out of the 20 players, a very small minority are the bad guys. The game is divided into Day and Night, and during the night the bad guys kill an innocent. This player is out of the game. Then, during the day, the players (including the hidden bad guy) vote on who to lynch during the day to try and root out the bad guys.

The game usually ends when the combined strength of the bad guys is above the remaning innocents OR the innocents kill all the bad guys.

There is usually a high level of roleplaying and side plots involved, with each character having a personal goal, as well as a unique ability (such as the ability to detect who is active at night) or item (Such as a stone that detects the alignment of players) to aid them in these goals.

It'll be fun. Sign up, Arakhor.

With 20 players, this one will still be running long after NOTW XXVI will have started. Isnt this against the idea of the whole thing
