Here's A C'n'P Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec God of the Sun.

The big difference here is the addition of a Victory FLC. In said flic, Huitzilopochtli ceremionally lifts up his defeated victims heart to the sun (Even though, he technically IS the sun). The preview plays kinda fast and it doesn't include the sound (Of course...), but the victory sound is intermixed with a heart-beat, so it's pretty obvious what it is in game...

Included is Large and Small Civilopedia files, Unit_32, and README, which includes a place-holder Civilopedia entry. Enjoy!

BIG CREDITS go to Aaglo for making the original unit, the "Lord of Change"

Nice Lord M !
Have you changed more than the Victory.FLC and the victory sound ?
Very fair to give a link to the original version. I wish everybody would do that.

whats he gonna be used for?

Well, currently, I need him in a scenario I'm working on called "The Five Suns", where you can play as Quetzalcoatl, Huitzilopochtili, Tlaloc, or Tezcatlipoca. I just needed a good Mesoamerican 'bloody' victory, and I thought you guys might be interested in it. ;)

I messed with some of the sounds slightly, and I remade the Civilopedia Icons, but other then that, not really. I think I might go back and color his eyes Red to Green though...

As do I! I really feel that I should give as much credit as possible to the original artist, since I basically just collaged something right on top of his. :D

... and there I was thinking it'd be Quetzalcoatl.... :o looks mightily evil for being the "Colibri of the south"

Maybe it's just me, but when I think of Mr. Hummingbird on the Left, I always assumed he was a darker deity, as compared to the more friendly and human-loving Quetzalcoatl.

Lord Malbeth... Cool addition to aaglo's unit. Always room for more Novelties and different artistic additions :goodjob:

Glad ya like it! :D

Nice. Made something already diabolical-looking to something even more diabolical-looking. ;)

I would like to say that aaglo's Lord of Change unit has to be one of my favorite evil-looking units!

Your scales are wrong. Quetzalcoatl is the nice god, but it's not just Huitzilopochtli that you wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley, it's all of them. They were big on human sacrifices and not so big on humans. And like the Norse, the Aztecs generally felt those who didn't die in battle would have quite the unpleasant afterlife. Aztec Mythology in general is pretty depressing.

Actually, Quetzalcoatl wasn't so big on human sacrifices. Most legends say he adamantly refused them. In fact, according to most Mesoamerican mythologies, he was the instigator of humanity. We should definitely be thankful for the Feathered Serpent. :D

And you didn't have to die only in battle to get to an afterlife. For instance, those who died of water-related illnesses, etc. got to live in the eternal paradise that was offered by Tlaloc. Also, pregnant women who died became hummingbirds, alongside warriors. This was the highest honor reserved for anyone.
