Narz
keeping it real
Ok, I signed us up for something that's probably a bit over our heads but I figured could be a lot of fun. Basically 10-min per move vote games that will could go anywhere from 8-20 hours total (perhaps less, hopefully not more but possibly
).
Full Info Here
The games can be played anytime on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and will go until they are finished obviously. One game at a time per weekend & we start next weekend (vs. who is displayed on the schedule in the link).
As team captain I will do my best to be online during the games & take breaks when I'm sure at least one other teammate is covering the match.
Like with a regular correspondence game if you leave a vote chess game open & it becomes your move the game should flash "IT'S YOUR MOVE" on your browser tab. It will be our move every 20 minutes. As long as we get at least one vote per move we won't lose on time.
Obviously the quality of these games won't be top, ultimate, cream-of-the-crop, premium but, like blitz chess, they will hopefully be fun.
Not much time to discuss so for anyone wanting to discuss an idea might be to create a private-chat in Live Chess where anyone online who wants to participate can do so there.
I don't expect anyone else to be as wild about this as me, nor to keep their game-window open all day one day of your precious weekend but drive-by voters (who give their moves at least a minute or two think & ideally consult with others via chat) are welcome.
If anyone has any interest in this this is the thread to talk about it. If anyone thinks this is a crazy idea, I understand. However I don't think it's anymore nutty than World of Warcraft marathons or hikes up Mount Everest. It will be fun one way or another I'm hoping.
Our first opponent next weekend will be the Chess Nuts
