Windows7 problem?

Ok so my Vista got somehow messed(not a suprise) and I decided to reinstall OS and wanted to try Windows7. Now I have to say everything else is working quite fine expect Civ4BtS. Once the startup has loaded all the XML files screen goes black and the intro movies should show up, but nothing......well not if I don't wait literaly 15mins then the movies play and I'm able to get to the main menu, but if I try change any graphic settings like resolution I have wait another 15mins. I haven't even tried playing. So far I like W7 much better than Vista and I really would like keep it, so any help would be appriciated.

My machine also meets all minimum requirements of civ4 easily and I have installed ATI's official Windows 7 graphic drivers.

Windows 7 runs fine for me - although I have a nVidia card. The only issue is that I get a windows 7 warning that it needs to turn-off aero glass when I start Civ4.

I presume that you've patched BTS to the latest patch? Got the latest directx? You have the ATI windows 7 drivers - do you definitely have the latest version (9.7, released July 21st)

Yes I have the latest 9.7 drivers, 3.19 patch and latest directx.

Ok this can be closed.....seems that this is actually....pum pum pum.....firewall issue even thou I did add BtS to safe program list....so I have no idea why it didn't work....btw I was using comodo.
