I am currently working on a preplaced Rhye's Enlarged Europe Earth map, seeing as my previous one was lost, and the one that is included in the current version of LoR doesn't have preplaced civs. I'm accumulating a list of civs, and trying to ge ttheir starting locations correct. Any help, especially with starting locations, would be appreciated.

Civs:
0. Greece
1. Holy Rome
2. France
3. England
4. Rome
5. Spain
6. Poland
7. Russia (Start at St. Petersburg)
8. Vikings (Start at Copenhagen)
9. Carthage
10. India
11. Persia
12. Egypt
13. Ethiopia
14. China
15. Mongolia
16. Korea
17. Japan
18. Zululand
19. Babalon
20. Sumeria (Start at Jerusalem)
21. Inca
22. Vietnam
23. Aztec
24. Maya
25. Iroquois
26. Sioux
27. Celtia(Start in Southern Ireland)

I mis named it, how ironic. I was going on information using the previous civlization set up, and I completly forgot about Greece. In the next version, I'll correct the name.

Thanks.

One thing to note with this project is that the Starting Option "Start as Minors" should be left off. There is a bug where if this option is on, the WBS format forces contact with all civs.

Well, it's your map/scenario so I don't think my opinion is really relevant. But since you're asking I would create 3 seperate maps, one for Ancient, Middle, and Late. In the ancient I would only include ancient civs, middle the medieval civs, and Late, the later civs, but that would require building an entire map, and the late and middle era ones would require quite a bit of work to get set up. So for a general purpose 4000BC starting map I'd be more inclusive, but still in that case I'd drop some of the much later era civs, to allow them to spawn as barbarian civs or revolutionaries. The civs I'd leave out would be:

1. Byzantium
2. Austria
3. Portugal
4. Ottomans
5. Netherlands
6. America
7. Arabia

This will open up some space in Europe, which will be esential for gameplay, and also allow for some new unique civs (rather then clones) to spawn from Barbarians and Revolutions.

Once you get this/these maps/scenarios done I will include them in the main download of LoR :) however you choose to set them up.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions. I'll go with jus the one map for now, and take out the civlizations you suggested I should remove. I think I'll imporve my skill before attempting any senarios, but I will get some out there.

What I'm going to call version 1.0 has just been completed. Download here: http://www.filefront.com/14153233/Earth%2027%20Civs.rar

I guess about a few starting positions, and left out some civs (Mail, Khmer, ect.) for revolution purposes. Any comments, tips, and corrections are greatly appreciated.

I updated the link and the name of the map. I've been doing a little play-testing, as Greece, and it seems everything is fine. And, once Berenthor's finished with his Macedonian civ, and everything is updated, ect. I'll put Macedonia in the game also. (Giveing Greece some opponent right on her borders, because right now, I'm able to wage a full scale war with almost anyone while having my city completly undefended, and in production of a warrior, when all civlizations are using bronze age units.

Macedonia will only be for Berenthor's mod mod, so you may not want to include it, or keep a straight LoR version. This map will be included in the next release, so let me know if you update it again. Also I would really like to have a middle ages scenario available as well :deal:

Be sure to use the current test build for development, otherwise you'll end up with leaders that don't exist. I just replaced Walesa and Napolean the third in your map, because they will no longer be in the next release ;)

Oh, ok then. So only Welesa and Napolean III are going to be out? That doesn't seem like much of a problem. I'll just switch them with Napolean and Casmir III, that's all. In fact, I'll do that rihgt now, so I don't forget. Also, you are going to keep the non pre placed Enlarged Europe map in the mod, right? Because that's esential to future development and such.

Yeah, keeping that map in. Right now I'm also fixing the World War Wolf scenario, so that the mod has a working Industrial era scenario.

A good map as well would be a pre placed Ancient map, with only the civs that existed at that time, so just Celts and Spanish in Europe, Only Egypt in Africa, only the ancient Middle Eastern Civs, etc. that way the new civs can spring up from revolutions and barbarian civs, and would leave the old world completely bare (as the Aztecs, Mayans, and Inca haven't come about yet). In fact most of the action in such a setup would be in the Middle East and Asia.

Update: 1.3

Moved Poland's starting position one tile East.

Moved Celt's starting position one tile NE.

I've been thinking about adding some barbarian cities for civs (EX: France has Brest and two other cities and German has barbarian Hamburg or Munich) What do you guys think?

Well, Merry Christmas! Here's my updated Earth 28 Civs. Changes include:

The removal of Germany and addition of the Holy Roman Empire

Moving Persia's starting location to a more accurate one (I think)

Download link is Here. Enjoy, and please send feedback if you can! Merry Christmas to all!

Excellent, was about to compile the installer, but I haven't yet. So I'll be adding this in.
