Im just wondering if this has been fixed yet. i was pretty late in my game when i couldnt get the AI to finish its turn or determine who it was that was messing up my game so i had to quit.

try going to world builder and add a galley from each civ. turn on <view enemy/friendly moves> in option menu. Then you see which civ is the troublesome (Usually they just declared war). Delete his fleet, and you are good to go again ;)

ive done that a few times already. im already passed that now. i even deleted about half the world and still no fix. and i shouldnt have to do that every 10 turns its just annoying so im waiting until there is a fix for it before i play again.

I've passed the info about the 'waiting for civ' problem to RevDCM team as the problem likely to be caused by revolution/barbarian civ/Better BtS AI components. So we might get fix for it sooner or later (don't know how long it takes to locate the bug).

well i thought that the 2.71 would make a difference but ive now gotten into the 9th or 10th hour into my new game and am greeted by the loop again. :( i think i am going to cry.

i just spend 28 minutes in world editor deleting every ship i could find in and out of cities and im sure ive deleted 90% of the worlds boats and i am still stuck on this damn loop. i thought the loop had something to do with boats...is there a way to turn off revolutions in a current game? going into the .ini or some other method?

Same problem here

Me & 2 friends are stuck on 4 different single player maps due to the "waiting for other civilizations" loop bug.
It's the ultimate game breaker as the only way around it that truly works so far is to erase enemy civs (using world builder).
Needless to say , we have to stop playing RoM altogether :(

Why stop playing RoM altogether when all you really need to do is Play RoM without the REVDCM Options.

Carwyn and other MP players use Core RoM and seem to have no problem with "the waiting for other Civ..." bug.

Try some different options, if you haven't done so already.

Hmm thanks for the hint, will try a new session without REVDCM

well there goes that theory. why is it that zappara hasnt had this problem when it seems to be so damn common? i think the only way to really play this mod successfully will be to uninstall it and civ4 and then reinstall civ4 and dont patch it up to 3.19 and dont patch RoM up to 2.7 or 2.71. i never had this issue before 3.19 and 2.7

I had the issue with 2.6, but we played 2.53 without any problem. So far I haven't gotten far enough into a game with 2.71 to run across it, so I don't know yet. Lately I can't seem to get my civ going well enough even at Prince to keep my neighbors from all hating me and something seems broken with trade. Of course my good friends added some modmods and put up a version for us to play multiplayer and since then things are not right! lol I think he modded the governments to try to rebalance them. I'm going back to vanilla 2.71 for now, I could play that!

I think I saw the waiting bug once in 2.17 since I started to play it, that was a single player game. I just started another one at the time.

well the loop seems to happen most often in long games. all my loop issues arise during snail pace games and after 1000 turns. which makes the loop that much more devastating. by the time i am really really really invested in my game thats when it springs up. i can usually solve the first 1 but after that it requires erasing civs and thats just no fun at all.

I have played a lot of games since 2.6 and have yet to encounter the endless loop bug.

I think I am hitting what appears to be the same problem, playing a marathon game on a huge map. At about 1700 the turns started to take a long time to complete > 2 mins, which is just about bareable, but then at 1812 they take so long I have to leave my computer running overnight to finish one (i.e. they take longer than 15mins which is as long as I have sat and watched it for). I narrowed down the culprit civ and tried deleting their army (but not their navy) and this didn't help. What I wanted to do is change player to play AS that civ so no AI calcs for it, but I am not running revolutions so I cannot do it (what is the connection between change player and revolutions anyway? Why can't I always change player?).
Is this similar to your experiences, or do I have a different problem?
(going off to delete some navies now, I have invested >20hrs in this game and I really want to finish it  )

/edit If it is any use, I think I have encountered the same problem before, and both times (IIRC) it was on Perfect_World maps.
/update:
I can fix the problem for me by deleting parts of the offending civ using world builder, but while I was doing so I noticed something v. strange: he was ONLY building inquisitors, nothing else, in every city!

For those using marathon have you tried an Epic instead?

I play almost exclusive Epic on Giant maps with only 8-12 AI and I've not had a "waiting..." bug since 2.7test1 (3 test versions ago). Those that consistently have this problem are playing 20+ civs too. Are you?

But I also Don't play The REVolutions option nor the BarbCiv option and I don't allow vassals (hate the concept and how it works in game). The last "waiting.." bug I had was a BarbCiv game.

Some thoughts and observations.

Here we're getting the "waiting for other civilizations" loop bug quite often.

My & my friend's usual settings are :

Huge map, snail pace, 5-10 xtra civs, no barb civs, no REVs options, Vassal is on, no extra mods(only RoM).

Twice we found out that the bug originated from a Carrier ship (Fluyt, Galleon..) with the "UNITAI-ASSAULT-SEA" script.

I have the same problem.
How do you solve it?

How do you solve it?

It's a headache to solve it :

- Find out which boat units are bugged (hard on large maps)
- Use the world builder option
- Either delete the units or change their scripts
- Exit the world builder & start playing again

There's a big chance the bug will appear again during the same game, so this is just a temporary fix :(

As for me, i stopped using RoM until there's a fix & play the "Extra" mod meanwhile, testing if the same bug is present there as well.
