LOL, as put out by some conservative bible and firearm grasping small town hard working types.
Shall we say if Professor Hawking was American there would be a damn good chance that he would be dead by now.
He would not have been able to get insurance in his twenties to deal with the disease he has.

An American being the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics, the same position Sir Isaac Newton held, that would unusual.

DEATH PANELS IN ACTION. WHAT IS HE DOING TO THAT POOR MAN??

I already posted a more thorough debunking in another thread.

edit: Second Post

He would have been covered by the government. There's a ton of government health insurance programs in the US: over 65, under 18 and not insured through your parents, disabled, extremely poor (300% of the poverty line). It's rather inefficient imho.

Stephen Hawking is British...

I think that's why the title is funny ^^

It sure is strange how the debate in the US seems to be conducted with references to other parts of the world, with more or less ludicrous and easily refutable claims, AS IF these parts would be totally oblivious to what is being said.

For once this is a story so incredibly stupid it deserves multiple threads mentioning it.
