It would be nice if obsolete wonders had a small commerce/culture boost, e.g. tourism. Just so they're not put to complete waste. But it would be have to be small.

they had that in civ3. Is it not in Civ4?

Not that I'm aware of. Once a Wonder becomes obsolete it's useless.

No tourism? In civ3 if you had a wonder factory it would also be a gold factory soon rom the huge tourism bonuses.

Yeah, it produces culture, which IMO is a substitute for tourism revenue. It would be nice to have both, but then wonders would probably be a bit too overpowered.

IMO I think they had it right with the tourism/culture balance in Civ3. So I think it would be great to use both.

Sure, if they got the balance right it would work, but with the inclusion of new game factors, new wonders, etc., the developers would have to make sure that they did get the balance right.

wonders should be powerful. e.g. providing some useful bonus(es) and generating trade (tourism) afterward.

Well like you said about adding new wonders, I generally use the slogan "the bigger the better" and "the more the merrier" for civ games.

I agree with 'the more the merrier', but I do think that if you make one singular build overpowered, it becomes disproportionately important to the course of the game. I mean, it really justified for the creation of say, the Spiral Minaret, the greatly alter the course of the game. No. Which is why is it good that they give a reasonably significant bonus without having too large an overall impact.
