Hi everybody! I am doing this SG as another spy game, where we have The Reincarnation of Sitting Bull. He has come back to life and is upset that the government has stolen all his land and he is on a mission to steal everything back and leave this world in a rocket ship to find another planet that he can call his own.

All GSpies must create Scotland Yard's in the highest :commerce: cities first, except the first GSpy must be settled. Spies must be run first before other specialists, but self research is encouraged.

The only world wonders that are allowed are the ones that create GSpy points which include:

The Great Wall Cost: 150 (Double Production Speed w/ Stone)
Culture: 2
Great People Points: 2
Requires: Masonry

The Kremlin
Cost: 800 (Double Production Speed w/ Stone)
Culture: none
Great People Points: 2
Requires: Communism
Expires: Fiber Optics

The Pentagon
Cost: 1250
Culture: none
Great People Points: 2
Requires: Assembly Line

The Statue of Liberty may be added so every city gets a free spy specialist

Any buildings producing :espionage: must be built before anything else.

Courthouses, Castles, Intelligence Agencies, Jails, Security Bureaus

Leader
Spoiler :

Philosophical for more GSpies, Protective for extra protection

UB

+3XP for archery units

UU

A resourceless axe with only a :strength:4 but a 100% vs Melee units

Level: Monarch.
Map type: either Continents or Big and Small
Speed: Epic.
BTS 3.19 and BUG4.1 standard install (not as a mod).

Current roster.
1 cripp
2 The Simple Mind
3 CommandoBob
4 mfie
5 glenmetz
6 Gumbolt

EDIT: As far as Great People are concerned
  • GP - Shrine or GA
  • GA - GA
  • GS - Academy or GA
  • GM - Trade Mission or Sid's
  • GE - Rush The Kremlin or Mining Inc.
  • GSpy - Scotland Yard

Civics: The main civic that is required is Nationhood for the +25:espionage: and Theoracy for the +2XP, barracks +3XP, Totum Pole +3 for +8XP for archery units!

Wars: We must defend our cities which means we can't go to war unless declared on. Then it's all fair to have Bull steal back his land. All GG must be settled in the HE city except the 1st one for a Super-Medic.

Hi Cripp,

I'll join if you'll have me. I've only just started played SGs and it's good fun so far (with the occasional :smoke: move thrown). I play monarch but don't have much experience with either Sitting Bull or thief economy games. So would be fun to try.

Is this a team game or something you just complete?

I would be interested in this joining this game.

I'm rather new to Civ4/BtS, but I'm ready to learn. I have the 3.19 patch installed and BUFFY someNumber DOT anotherNumber for SGOTM 10. I don't know if that will conflict with BUG4.1. BUFFY installs as a mod (well, the game tells me it has to reload due to BUFFY).

I am not very familiar with how the various patches and mods play with each other.

I would like to join too,
I've both version 3.17 and 3.19
If you use BUG on standard install, it does not matter if the next player has it, right?
(I have BUG)

Lurker Comment: It is my understanding that the Buffy Mod is not compatible with a non-Buffy save. So you either play with Buffy or you do not.

It doesn't matter if the whole team has BUG or not, so far as I know. Though it is a rather useful tool, so I'd recommend all players to install it.

I'm fairly certain that everything I've said is true, so hopefully that helps.

This should be an interesting game. I don't have time to play, but I'll lurk. I haven't played Sitting Bull since I was a n00b, so it'll be interesting to see him played well.

Ok roster is full! So let's get started. I think doing a continents would be best.

Spoiler settings :
Lock Modified Assets is ON

And the start, which is the first roll.

Spoiler :

Fish, corn, stone and silk. Since we start with Ag/Fish, I believe Techs Mining>Mason>Wheel>BW
Builds wb>worker>warriors>GW

And the game begins!!

Where do we want to settle? Two options I would consider are in place or 1E.

In place
  • Has a lot of water tiles, 6 coast and 2 oceans with only one seafood.
  • Plenty of forests for chopping. 7 known and looks like another 5 in the fogged tiles.
  • No tile in bfc that key resource can pop.
1E
  • Known tile swapped: losing 1 coast & 2 oceans and gaining 1 plains hill & 2 plains
  • Loses 1 forest but gains a grassland hill.
  • Still plenty of forests in bfc for chopping.
  • Possible that plains hill 2N2E could have a strategic resource.
  • One additional turn to settle
As a general rule I settle in place. However, I don’t like having a lot of water in my bfc and considering we can’t build the Colossus, I think we should settle 1E

Techs and builds look fine to me. I take it we wont start on the GW until we have the stone online?

Lurker Comment: It might not hurt to move the Warrior 1S first. All those forests will block some of the view, but it would reveal a few more tiles.

The stone is awesome to have in your Capitals BFC. You'll get the Great Wall in no time.

That is a good start, although the Silks won't be of much use for many, many turns. I agree with Whosit, if anyone could move the warrior 1 to the SE and take another screen shot, it would be helpful to see what we have. At this point, I vote for settle in place. Definately go Mining->Mason but I would probably turn out another warrior before the first worker.

Moving the warrior 1S on the hill will show some more possibilities of what could be in the BFC. Moving the settler 1E will still have access to the ocean for building navy units.

We have plenty of forests to chop, I still can't believe the first roll gave us stone! but also having stone it might be a serious consideration of building the pyramids in one of the :hammers: cities that's giving our spy specialists +4:science: and use the GE to rush The Kremlin or for Mining Inc. We don't want to pollute the GSpy pool in our :commerce: cities.

GA's will be used for GA, GPs either for shrine or GA, GM for trade missions or Sid's, GS for Academy or GA(I'll update the original post with the use of great people)

We have plenty of forests to chop

Going this tech path, we would have the stones connected 3 turns after wheel completed and would probably be able to build GW before we've completed researching BW. I tend not to build the GW (usually acquire it from a kind civ) so I'm not sure when it normally gets built.

Once BW research, chop out some workers and settlers?

Agree with moving the warrior before settling. Either S or SE, not sure which will reveal the most land.

Re other wonders - having stone (or marble) can be very tempting to wonder spam. Once we see the lay of the land we can decide if we want to pursue this but at the moment I think we should try for a thief economy and ignore other wonders. No doubt I'll change my mind on this once you've completed your set .

Since South is on a hill it will reveal the tiles same tiles that you see when you move SE + A couple of tiles on the west (So moving him south is better)

mfie, I wasn't sure which was best as the hill is forested and it looks like the tile 2S is forest as well, so the view would be restricted. I suppose S will show more of the bfc whereas SE would show more land to the east. As the bfc is the most important, S it is.
