WARNING:
This is my first hosted SG and my first SG as well so I will accept all the blame for whatever isn't set right:eek: (all credit for good things I will also take :mischief:).

I would like a 6~7 players roster including myself, so there are currently 5~6 spots open.

Game Settings:
Spoiler :
SG0002.jpg

Pangea
Normal Speed
Emperor Difficulty
Normal Speed
No Events
No Huts
No Vassals
The chosen leader is Montezuma!

I've tinkered very slightly with the start so I will put myself at the end of the roster so that the knowledge I gained (I did not see anything of the map but there are some surprises waiting) may not be used in early decisions.

Roster
1. Slibluhr
2. cripp7
3. Gumbolt
4. mlinneak
5. Meerk
6. mjg5591
7. kossin

We'll give players 48 hours to pick up the save. Another 48 to play it although extra time can be granted if requested. These times aren't extra-strict as some discussion may be required before going on forward. Your input is much coveted!

Rules:
1. Montezuma may not build World Wonders. Why use slaves to build Big Rocks when you can use them to throw pointy sticks at your neighbors? (National Wonders are ok)
2. Montezuma may not declare war. :rolleyes:
3. However, he is welcome to bully as much as he wants in order for his enemies to declare war on him.
4. You do not talk about Fight Club. ;)

I don't think this will be a very hard game given the map type, difficulty and rules but it should be fun.

As for turnset lengths, I will await for input. I'm thinking 20 for the first few sets and then either 15 or 10, although the player may decide to play a few turns more (to complete a tech, etc.) or less (if input is needed, etc.)

The start:

I will post the save once the roster is filled up (or almost).

@bestsss
Well, at least, it isn't my real name :lol:

@babybluepants
I thought I had written World Wonders but looks like I didn't - fixing it now. National Wonders will be fine.

@Slibluhr
Workers are allowed, you must have misread "Wonders" I guess, just no DoW and WW.

I would be beside myself if I did not roster myself. You do realise this will mean Monty wont be next Cookbook game!!

I would like to join as well if you still have room. Very new to SG (have not played a turn in one yet) so am anxious to learn the ropes :)

You do realise this will mean Monty wont be next Cookbook game!!
There's plenty enough bloodshed with Shaka currently. :goodjob: Besides, they both have early UB/UUs. I'd rather see a mid or late-game UU/UB next, possibly even Charlemagne's Landsknecht/Rathaus combination.

I'll join if there's still room. I'd like to bully some of these AI around. We'll need to carefully balance unit spam between enough for defence and enough to piss off the AI. That is to say, if we're too powerful, they're going to give into our demands too frequently.

You guys are all welcome! I'll post up the save tomorrow. If someone else wishes to join, there might still be a roster spot left.
@all
Is there any preference as to where you would be on the roster?
Nobody said we had to make a bloody war out of this, although it may end up to be really tempting ;)

I don't care where I am on the roster except that I would prefer not to be first, just because of my newness to SGs. I will also be OOP 5 and 6 of Nov only and back online Saturday, so wherever I fit best :) Thanks

-Also, to get some discussion going, would moving the scout 2N1W be a good idea to get a better view of the area around our settler?

If there are still any spots open, I would like to join. This would be my first SG as well. I am relatively new to the game. I have won up to Prince, and am playing my first Monarch game at the moment.

Alright, the roster is complete then. For those not used to Emperor, don't worry there should be enough discussion in between rounds so that you won't feel so alienated to the level.

So, the roster looks like:

1. Slibluhr
2. cripp7
3. Gumbolt
4. mlinneak
5. Meerk
6. kossin

If anyone wants to move somewhere else on the initial roster, make it known (except the last spot ;))

I am putting up the save and will edit in my thoughts for turn 0.

Edit: Turn 0
We have a lot of plains, counting 6 in the actual BFC. 1 plains cow and 1 fp. I hope there's another food source in the BFC (grain based please!) or this could be a slow start.
I'm not sure moving the settler can be any good here, it would probably give us even more plains. I suspect desert to the SW so moving south doesn't look too appealing either.
In any case, sending the scout to that plains hill 2N1W as mlinneak suggested will give a us better clue of the surroundings and on how to proceed.

Techwise, if we have a grain based resource, then obviously AG>AH. Otherwise, AH first and then perhaps mining?
Given the variant, we might also consider going for a religion first to make some religion hate:mad::mad::mad:.

Oh, and before someone asks, we may not agree to requests to declare war. We must also defy AP resolutions for holy wars.

On second thought, I'm going to take a pass on this. I'm sure you can fill that spot in no time.

:king:
So it's on me? ok

How many turns?

Talking about the game, I agree with settling in place if there's no resources 2N of the hill and go (AG if there is food ->) AH -> Mining -> BW

Building would be worker, scout or warrior, whip worker, chop settler if there is no food or worker, scout or warrior, barracks (until pop 3) -> whip worker, chop settler

But I'll start the turn set today at 7.30 - 8.00 pm (GMT -2.00), so shout at me what you think::D

Turnset: at least 20 turns, enough to get the worker out and improve at least 1 resource. Mapping the surrounding to find a decent second/third city site.
You can move the scout right now to see if we'll want to consider moving I guess.
As this is Pangea, are Aggressive and we already start with a scout, a warrior after the worker would be better I think.
