Hey everyone, just letting you know that the mod is still being worked on and that its still around. For those of you woh dont know of the mod, here is a basic preview of what is done, and what it is.

We have 16 different civs, which are listed on the mod's main page located at www.strategyplanet.com/civilization/starwars and many other things. The plan is to have over 150 units total and a completely redone tech-tree. All graphics in civIII will be changed to feel more star wars like. Sounds, music and animation will be all new, with various things from the movies. There is still much work to be done, and any help is appreciated.

Finished:
-Darth Vader Leaderhead
-26?(not sure of the number) units
-miliatary advisor
-era splashes
-terrain mostly complete
-tech tree almost remapped
-most music (will not be added until 100% done and i make sure copyright laws arent violated)
-2 resources have pictures, most resources selected
-various wonder civilopedia icons
-tech tree icons, and civilopedia icons
-most wonders and improvements changed
-some civilopedia entries
-many text changes
-other assorted graphics and sound changes

This mod sounds interesting. I will help with what I can as long as I can still work, go to college, and update my web site as well.

You say you have 26?? units. I only have 20 star wars units on my site. Post a list and I will do a compare. I may have some you dont, and I am curious as to which ones I dont have.

Also, you posted a "Finished" list. If you want people to claim jobs and help, you should also post an "unfinished" list so we know what else needs done. When you do post such a list, I will see what on it I can help with as my Magic mod is currently almost at a halt.

We have a list of who's working on what at the site. I belive it is up to date? Yes it's 26 I just checked. I would like to know which units you have right now.

unfortunately, i shut my web site down about an hour and a half ago. I may be able to look anyway. . .

I dont know how jimmy h does it

I used the tool to extract the wookie with a gun. My method I used for the leah (i think that is who that was) didnt work. It was all messed up. It took my 1 hour 15 minutes to make a good looking run and default animation, but the shadows are still black and messed up, and it is in gif format (still have to copy/paste into storyboard.

I am still up to the job as it will be good experience, but I will not be able to pump units out one per hour, more like one per every 2 days (once I get to CSprings that is)

Just thought I would update everyone (and bump the thread :P )

You know, when you edit a reply that didnt have an attachment, you dont have the option to add one. or am I suffring from lack of sleep?

Anyway, this image here constitutes 1/8 of my last 1 hr 15 mins. (I did all 8 directions, this is just one)

OK, this is when I ask a vital question:

The wookies are in the mod, right??

GIDustin

Yes the wookiees are in the mod. And id like to say that pumping a unit our in 2 days is still great. The quickest i ever made a unit was one day and that was the naboo fighter, which i made in about 3 hours total (including sounds and civilopedia pics). Its good to have you on the team Dustin, ill add you to the members page when i get some time.

   I just found a problem in my wookie project. The SS says it all

The unit is not centered in the frame. This could be an easy fix, but I already have FLCs for default, fidget, and run. As you can see, they work in the game with civ-specific colors and shadows.

Suggestions?

Forgot to ask:

When you select a unit to build in the game, the box down below gains an image from one of the FLCs. Does anyone know which one? My Wookie didnt have an icon down there (looked like a settler in the menu, but I set it that way cuz I am lazy, but the box below was BLANK, Blanca, empty)

GIDustin

That doesnt make sense though, cuz my default works just fine. It is a single-frame default though. (Galactic battlegrounds default for this guy is him scratching his leg. I find this better used as fidget, and just used the first frame of run as the default.

I am sure there is some problem somewhere that I overlooked.

GIDustin

The problem is that the worker's feet are in teh dead center of the tile. The wookie is standing on the bottom corner. This somewhat confused me in the game, but you can still tell what tile he is in.

GIDustin

Oh, i see now. I cant help ya though, all my units have the same problem. But, since i havent played civIII since i started the mod, i guess it hasnt bothered me. :D

ok. nother question

This guy is supposed to just turn towards the enemy, and start the attack animation as he has a gun. But instead, he walks up to the other guy, stick his hand through the enemy, and starts firing with his arm in the other guys mouth. I put on ranged attack animation, but it doesnt seem to care.

Suggestions?

GIDustin

edit: I fixed it. It was either because I was using the settler icon, or because the unit wasnt marked "offensive"

The wookie attack animation is coming along great, default, fidget, and run already done. Death is next, then the release

I edited my post

I will have the wookie finished in the morning (apr 7-8 hours from the time of this post), and would appreciate it if someone could try to find sounds and Civilopedia text for it so that I can post a full zip when I wake up.

I plan to test it in the game tonight, then go to bed.
