So I rolled this map yesterday. I didn't save it, but I just had to play a couple of turns.

Here's the starting screenshot.

And here's what happens when I move the warrior 1W.

Ok.....

Well, I guess I'll settle on the fur. But wait, there's more.

9 beavers. Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha.

The only thing that would make this better was if you had a resource monopoly. With seven furs to trade off, you could make some good cash from the fur deprived civs. Plus, you are a FIN civ, so you could be raking in some major cash from those camps.

I'd farm the 3 plains/riverside ones (2:food: 1:hammers: 3:commerce: isn't horrible early). I'd also consider mining the one on riverside hill since that will be 4:hammers:3:commerce: Then you still have 1 for yourself and 2 for trade.

Having a decent number of beavers isn't unusual, but this was certainly an extreme case.

I was planning on mixing farms/cottages on the non-hills. I have the one from settling on top of it for myself, and I would mine as necessary; given the low food, I might run camps on one or two of the hills that I won't be working in the first place.

Also, there was a cow I missed by moving.

That's funny. One usually doesn't get that much beaver without having some gold or silver handy. Just avoid Crabs at all cost. :D

:lmao:(ten chars.)

SW or S would have been better, since you could work 2 farms for growing/poor man settler whip. SW gets a levy.

A pretty bad capitol though with all the early commerce you could consider a run at oracle.

Maybe you don't. :p

I kid, I kid.

That's not what your girl said. :p

There's something eerily missing from this thread. I think a certain Lemonperson is long overdue to put her two cents in. :D

You fellows seem to have it well in hand. :mischief:

What? You were expecting something tongue in cheek? You fellows should know by now that I am a classy sort of pirate wench. I aim a little higher. :p

Somebody left there beaver exposed.

Oh, yeah, you're one classy dame. :rotfl:

Just to let you know, I just necro'd the Original Beaver Thread, because a) it's hilarious, b) it didn't start going downhill until post #10 (we were classier folk back then), c) I'm still mesmerized by all the folks that didn't get the double entendres.
