It's time to talk Turkey, err Ottomans. Yes, it's Tuesday, so that means it's time for the 15th edition of Monarch Student Prime! Mike is still out so I present you, Suleiman of the Ottomans!
Great starting techs: The Wheel and Agriculture, and a nice set of traits. Philosophical is very strong, and IMP let's you REX very rapidly if you wish. A nice well-rounded leader, even though he gets less of the spotlight than the awesome Mehmed.
His UU is the Janissary:
A musket with +25% bonus to melee, archery, and mounted units. Awesome if you ask me. A great draftable and makes a good rusher if the target has no rifles. Even if the target has rifles, Janissaries and Cannon are pretty powerful.
His UB is the Hammam:
An aqueduct than provides +2 happy. Also a great UB IMO. Higher happy caps are always nice, and the health bonus just for being an aqueduct is good as well.
And the start:
Nice floodplains and hills, but only a plains sheep for food. Hopefully there is another food resource in the fog or those FPs might have to be farmed. A decent start.
Map is:
Hemispheres, 2 continents, normal continents, tiny islands, temperate
Huts and Events are OFF, add events in the custom scenario if you wish. (just make sure to cover the top part with your hand so you don't see the AIs )
And a cut-and-paste from Meatbuster's Monarch Student games:
Save the file and place it in your Documents/BTS/Saves/WorldBuilder folder. Then unzip it into your Documents/BTS/Saves/WorldBuilder folder. Then use Playing a scenario to play your desired level. Or use custom scenario if you want to remove huts and/or events.
Recommended Checkpoints:
*1000BC or 1AD
*500AD
*1000AD or Liberalism
*Victory!
Please remember to put the journals of your adventures inside spoiler tags.
For Monarch+ players please try to add archery back to the barbs in WB. If you don't, AIs will capture cities with archers very early in the game, which is no fun. If you prefer easymode barbs, that's fine too, just don't go wondering why an AI captured a barb city in the very early BCs!
Thanks go to TMIT for making an excellent map creation guide and to mjg5591 for getting this series back on track!
And finally, the save!
