Hi, I have created a religion specific promotion for every religion in Vanilla Civ. If you have any comments, please. I need better names and buttons and possibly a little balancing, if you have ideas say them. Here are the promotions:

Meditation - Buddhism

Finally somebody makes a use out of this tag :D.
:think: Interesting, you gave the promotions from the later religions higher bonuses, so that you still would have an advantage from a late religion founding.
Might be unbalanced with free religion choice :think:.
 
Thanks the J, I made this modcomp for the very purpose that there would be an some advantage to found late religions and convert to them. I really haven't thought about the free religion choice...
 
Interesting ideas. They may be unbalanced, but at least it's a good start, since no one apparently has done this before.

Not true. RoM has had a religion based promotion tree for quite a while now.

However, these promotions are different from RoM's.
 
I Like the Idea, but it seems that it's a bit buggy. If you change your Religion, your Christian Cursader can gain the Karma Promotion additionaly. So you have two Religius Promotions. It seems that the tag ist "buggy".

Not true. I Just tested it. It can retain it's old Karma Promotion if it has already been Upgraded, but after you convert the unit can't gain Karma, I just checked. Could I see a screenshot?

I think that what I sayed. You need to promote the unit, then change the Religion. Now you can promote the Promotion of the new Religion.

@[VK]techathon probably meant you thought if you don't have karma and you are Hindu and switch to christian you can still get karma!

I made for myself a little Python script which gives units who are build in a city with the Statesreligion and Theocraty the Promotion of the Statesreligion. At least it solved for me this problem. If you allow I will upload it.
 
Wow, the Taoist one is quite, well, big! There's a lot of stuff going on there. Personally, I see a lot of potential. When I finally finish my leaderheads and get around to my super-special-mega-mod, I'll incorporate this!

This is a very cool idea. This is so cool that I decided to conquer this mod. :lol: I will add this soon with some modification to a new CCV release. I think I will give a modification of your promotions to unit classes like melee, archer, mounted or gun if running your state under theocracy. This seems better than the free XP of theocracy. And if not running theocracy anymore the religious promotions are taken away. And of course the given promotion must change if the state religion is changed. Yeah. I like it. :goodjob:
 
Cool promotions. ;)

If you want, you could grab the religious promotion buttons that I made for my modpack last year and use them if you like (seems that your buttons are missing alpha channel?).
