Love before war or vice-versa - An EU3 AAR

I felt like it might be fun to start one of these so I am. Okay we're playing as Burgundy and nothing has happened yet. I wanted to know what you guys wanted to do first. In the next report I will get the picture in the post, but for now it is down at the bottom. This game is at normal difficult at the earliest start date. As something to note I am using vanilla (cause a friend gave me it and I'm too lazy to buy expansion packs). Sign up for what you want to be bellow (eg General, Colony manager, ect).

Save up money to fabricate claims to Lorraine, then proto-nuke them. That way, your territories will be connected.

Pretty much this. Then, build up a massive army and crush France ASAP.

Lorraine should be the first step, and I'd try to ally with Spain and England if possible to keep a lid on the French. Proclaiming a Guarantee on Bourbon and Orleanais might make the French think twice about trying to annex them and therefore stop their expansion. It's going to be essential to have support in the war against France so keep good relations with the large powers around you.
