I started a game on "Giant Earth Map no preset civs" with only myselelf, with other civilizations emerging during the game from Barbarians. My game options are:

Victory - Diplomatic
Difficulty - Noble
Game speed - Snail
Options - city flipping after conquest, no tribal villages, no random events, rising seas, revolution mod, inqusitions, barbarianciv mod, tech diffusion mod, dinamic civ names mod
Civilization - American
Leader - Washington

The game went on ok, with almost no problem, until the middle ages almost all civilizations were present in game at some point in history, and 30+ were still in game. I have recognized the independence of 2 regions of my empire during the game, and both of them formed own civilizations (Aztecs and English) From some point on if I would recognize independence of any city it would not become new civilization but rather barbarian. I think this is because all civilizations were already used in game. Other things were ok, there were no crash. After a while I decided to start a new game.

I modified Earth 28 map preset civs map in notepad so I can start in custom scenario game with only myself like in previous game. All the game settings were the same as in first game except UNRESTRICTED LEADERS OPTION on here in second game. I started game as Mansa Musa of Babylon.

After year 1398 game crashes whatever I do! It says about CvGameCoreDLL.dll error in report. There are like only 15-16 civilizations in game right now, and i really do not know what is the reason of crash. This map is smaller than first one, there is only 15-16 in comparasion to 30+ in first game. I am using Windows 7, but I tested my savegame on other laptop with XP, it still crashes. And i am sure it has nothing to do with RAM or Graphics as i had no problem neither in first game, I am using Toshiba which is very good on graphics and 2 Gb Ram. The only thing i suspect can cause this error is UNRESTRICTED LEADERS on in second game. Please help me someone i want to continue to play that game, it is one of the most beautiful games I had until now, and the mod is great!

Another issue about AI autoplay - I let AI to take control of my empire by pressing ctrl+shift+M. At some point my empire expanded too much and AI dropped research to 25-30% and there is a stack of 6 barbarian near my capital city. They do not attack my capital they just move around one tile NW then back to previous tile. The capital is defended by 4 units. AI is building another unit, when new unit is ready, AI ........ disables it! New unit do not move anywhere it is just missing next turn! I do not know why AI does it, maybe because he thinks he can not afford too many units, but right after that he builds another unit in capital again, and then kills it, and so many times in row....
It was so annoying that i decided to test the following - I loaded my game from earlier point, I researched Alphabet (by Oracle). My idea was maybe AI do not have other good option than building units, so I gave AI chance to build research when there is no other good option. But nothing changed this time, AI is still building units, and killing them next turn.
Any chance Zappara can fix it in future?

Thank you for your reply. I am sure it has nothing to do with laptop performance, you can try save game on your laptop and see that it will crash. Also what do you think about second auto-play issue?

Not that i am any computer expert, but i as far as i can tell, that processor of yours is kinda week for ROM.
But i haven't even read your problem so don't take me to seriously :)

With that config I would recommend playing nothing larger than "Huge" with few civs or "Large" with more civs. Low Ghz CPU hinders turn times alot, and 2GB RAM isn't hat much to begin with in RoM or AND.

My problem is not related to RAM or game speed as I said I played game on that gigantic earth map with 30+ active civilizations without any problem.

Is it RoM 2.9 with no modifications? If so, I'll debug it if you want.

Yes, it is RoM 2.9 with no modifications, and no modmods. Just pure RoM 2.9
