After reading all the excellent threads here, I have decided to do a story of my own. This will be using Leoreth's excellent Dawn of Civilization mod, which is based off RFC (The mod can be found at this link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=361905).
So let's get started with letting everyone see me mess this game up
!
Civ is Spain, difficulty Monarch, and I'm not planning on going for the UHV. After all, I want to show off the mod's ability to let a player handle a large colonial empire. Because of this, we will be pursuing the entire Spanish colonial empire in North and South America.
So here's the start:
I send my settlers toward Marsella, Pampalona, and Grenada and change civics:
Grenada is founded as the capitol so I can get my free workers. Pampalona is founded the next turn. I begin researching paper.
My starting units raze Marsielle and Bordeaux:
This also gets me contact with the French. In this mod, they are lead by Charlemagne in the medieval era. I found Marsella the next turn (to avoid the French flip). I play a few more turns until all my cities have Christianity and have popped their borders. I also meet the Germans, who are lead by Charles I (He's actually Charles V ingame, but in Spain, he was Charles I, so that's what we'll call him).
Here's the situation where I left off:
I promise more pictures next time. So... Comments? Questions? Suggestions? Let me hear your thoughts!
EDIT: And how do you get the pictures to show?

. I may take the Phillipines eventually, but since Toku usually settles them, that could be more work than I want to do. I will not take a Far Eastern Treaty port unless China collapses or Mongolia controls it (usually synonymous). I'm taking Italy and the Netherlands (unless they're vassals by then), but Austria could be tough. I plan to take it, but last time I played Spain (I ended up winning UHV 'cause England collapsed mid-1300-1400's and France and the Netherlands vassalized to Germany, with both breaking free around the time I had a massive stack built up in case Freddy decided to get aggresive) Germany had a stack of 30-ish units, all muskets, cuirassiers, and cannons (state of the art at that point) along with a bit of assorted medieval junk sitting in Venice while he managed to take Moscow and cap Cathy (his stack never moved, just kept recieving new units) and had Louis, Willie, and Joao as vassals (the first two eventually regained autonomy, but it was scary for a while). I'm not willing to take on something like that, especially after Freddy gets rifles and UPGRADES THE ENTIRE STACK to cavalry and rifles while I'm going after Electricity so I can get extra benefits from watermills and get to radio/ Cristo
! Even a bunch of Conquistadores and super citadel-cannons can't touch that (well, they could, but all my production tiles had been taken by a little green kingdom to my west).
