Are you sick of trying to decide what building to build in what city? Do you hate that "adviser" telling you what your cities need to make?

Enough is enough!

The restrictions are that you must only build units. Missionaries are ok. Captured buildings or wonders are inevitable but we do what we can. Creating wealth/research/culture is fine too. Building wonders for fail gold is also ok, as long as they aren't completed.

I try silly restrictions like this on myself all the time. I don't know how easy/hard this will be.

Why the Khmer? I decided I must have creative for the border pops. With no granaries allowed, I know I'd have health problems so expansive. I am not the least bit worried about happiness due to HR.

Starting position:

I kinda like it. Having tundra means I'll get access to some health resources like fur/deer/that I might be lacking in a normal game. I also have a lot of trees which is +health as well.

My strat is going to be get monarchy for HR, get currency to build wealth, build lots of farms and whip whip whip.

Worldbuilder save attached.

For some reason the WB save didn't save right in the first post. I've attached it in a .rar here. It's set to noble.

Without a granary, you really don't want to whip. Just rely on mines/workshops.

If you're talking about granaries I don't think you get the concept of my game! I'm not really looking for optimal play cause that would of course involve making buildings.

First 50 turns:
Spoiler :

Lots of flood plains which are usually yummy but no granaries so I'll settle them after I get enough health resources.
Looks like I'm on an island with 2 other civs. Good neighbor in HC, he'll build a lot of wonders for me once I sell him my stone. He has marble too! He should tech well too. No reason to keep Ottamon's alive...

You can play optimally within constraints. I wouldn't even bother going slavery.

Can you make academies? (caste system scientists).

tried readin what he said? ... he said that since no Granaries he wouldn't rely on the whip rather going massive Mines

Meh, rather do another deity game where I don't run any specialists and post it, rather than warring on Noble, but good luck you all.

@r_rolo1 you read my mind about currency ^^
@earthling I had no idea how easy/hard this would be so that's why I started on noble. I think it's too easy at this level.
@VoiceofUnreason Yep guess I messed up the OP
@Sian I'm being very tongue in cheek, I know what he means

Cities can grow without granaries... they just go reallllllllllllllly slow. I upped the save if people want to try it. I think if I can just build granaries, I can win this at Monarch. (hint hint my next challenge)

Next 50 turns (50-100):
Spoiler :

With civil service, I can farm everything. After that I'll go metal casting>machinery and macemen the Ottomans.

I did this once before and it wasn't difficult. I just built cities everywhere (as close together as possible to avoid happiness issues), covered the land in cottages, went for democracy and then used rush buy to make armies.

actually it was kind of surprising how easy it was- not having buildings barely felt like a handicap at all.

I rarely use many building anyway. The commerce cities are so slow building them, and the military cities don't need many. Lack of granaries would be annoying, but thankfully you are creative. no border pops without religion/caste would be a pain!

Get ready to feel some culture pressure.
