Night of the Werewolves XXXIV: Chronomancy​

This is the Game Thread.

There are a few things you should know.
[-] Everyone has an Ability. Everyone has an Item, to start.
[-] There is no Victory Condition Scanner, or Faction Scanner.
[-] There will be no copypasting ANY conversation, PM, or correspondence. Paraphrase.
[-] There is no talking during the night in this thread.

There is an Excavation System

During the Afternoon Phase, anyone may attempt excavation by expending 5 gold and sending me a PM. During the Evening update, if they have uncovered anything of interest, it will be added to their list of items.

You may trust the Random Number Generator to pick the squares that you excavate, or you may send me a number between 1 and 100. You may only excavate one square per day, unless otherwise noted in your items or abilities. If you have an Afternoon-Phase ability, you must choose to either use it or excavate; you can't do both.

But even as the discussion reached a peak, the tablet swirled once again, and new words appeared...

This is a list of all the dead, in the order that they died.
1.TheForestAuro, the Chronomancer, slain by the Temporal Tome

...and all eyes focused on the Chronomancer, whose own grew wide in fear. There was a commotion in the crowd, and the rumors started to fly immediately as the tome began to glow with an intense indigo light.

"A Chronomancer? But I heard they were all wiped out..."

"...Chronomancy is forbidden! They say all Chronomancers are put to death..."

"...a dangerous art, forbidden by the amurites.."

Looking around, TheForestAuro quickly began spinning some sort of magical spell, but to no avail. The tome flashed and a beam of magical energy slammed into the revealed mage. Lashes of electricity held him up in the air as he screamed in pain, the magical tether from the tome growing in intensity as they continued to elevate the poor old man.

"My students! Kill them all! They can't be allowed to know our secrets!" he managed to scream, before one final blast of energy traveled up the tether. The light became unbearable, and by the time it had faded, there was nothing left of TheForestAuro



Oh, and also, somehow, against all odds, the one confirmed innocent, Innocent Guy, got totally killed. Figures.



There was a long silence, but there was one fact that seemed engraved upon all of their minds somehow - if they provided, by majority decision, one they believed to be a Chronomancer to the Temporal Tome, it would slay them. There would have to be a vote....

NotW XXXIV: Morning One

The solemn silence had long since ended - the Project Leader had reluctantly hurried everyone back to work, despite the new revelations. However, the expedition was rife with rumors and accusing eyes were starting to dart across the caverns. Time would tell (Pun ) whether or not these Chronomancers would indeed try and kill them all, but progress couldn't be stopped unless some threat could be verified.

(Note:The first phase will last longer than normal so everyone can get on track and understand the game has started.)

First off, didn't the rules say that you can copy/paste but cannot forward, or am I thinking of the CFC Mafia? (Thought it was this one.)

Also, what does it mean no victory condition scanner?

Alright, I know things are a little tense around here, because of the news about these time-blighters, whatever they're called, but let's focus on the important thing, the dig.

There is no copypasting -or- forwarding. If you want to use the words of another, then you must paraphrase.

By "there is no VC scanner", I mean, there is no ability that lets you point-and-click know whether someone is innocent or not.

Second of all, what you said did sound paradoxical, if you get what I'm saying. I personally do fear you are going to kill me, I'm not a mafia.

Yes. I will inform anyone if anything about their character changes. The only thing I will not do is send you updates about your income - you are expected to keep track of your income (although I will keep a running total as well, I will not send you totals every time income is generated.)

The engineer's apprentice looked around.
"Aye! Nothing to work with? That's rubbish. How do ye expect me to learn the trade if I can't practice the trade?
Blimey, I hope we get outta here in one piece, am I right?"

The healer shakes his head disapprovingly. Chronomancy? A bad route of magic that is. It is not pure; it violates the very laws of nature! We must stop... whoever it is immediately. Unfortunately, we seem not to have any leads. So for now, I will devote my efforts towards this dig. But I've heard of these kind of situations before. Being a healer... it's a risky trade when there are murderers around.

The worker looks around at his fellow villagers. Seems like there's plenty of work to be done here. *grumbles*

The dwarven Elder pondered who to lynch as he stroked his long flowing white beard--the sea-foam white beard appeared to flow for miles from his face, and like the beaches of the sea, was battered from age. His beard, much like the waves trying to make their way to the solid land past the beach sand, almost reached the solid ground the sea ceaselessly reached for. It was the longest beard in all the village, and he hoped that the younguns would appreciate the wisdom he could bestow on them. "Aye, I remember when my beard was was but a fuzz on my chin," thought the elder. He worked at the grumbling worker, and admired the bitterness that he appeared to have. "Aye, this is a village with much work to be done" he said aloud, with no one apparantly listening. He fancied to himself that perhaps the tool trader had a nice razor that could trim his beard.

The old dwarf had such thought frequently during the day. He suddenly realised he was drifting away from his original thought: what was it? Hmmm....drifting away....the sea? Ah yes! My beard.........

The elder had distracted himself, and did not come to a conclusion as to who to lynch as of right now.

The Caravan Guard thinks askthepizzaguy looks very suspicious and asks his allies to lynch him.

The Artist draws the scene that just took place on a sheet of paper.

"Uh... the lightning was blue, right?"

After hearing no answer, she assumes it was blue, and resumes her drawing.
