I've watched quite a few TED videos, and they still are as fascinating, thought-provoking and explanatory as they were the first time I watched one.

I think my absolute favorite is Hans Rosling shows the best stats you've ever seen. That was extremely educational. :goodjob:

Philip Zimbardo shows how people become monsters ... or heroes is also very enlightening. :goodjob:

I'm sure many people on CFC have watched at least one or two videos from TED.

What do you think about TED? Is there any particular talk that you really liked?

TED talks are great and a new thread is fine.

Wow, those were great. I also watched the one with Mandelbrot which was cool.

Never seen those before, instant bookmark, thanks for sharing!

Who doesn't love TED?

Obligatory talk (as in, they should force everyone to watch this) about one of the bigger problems the human race currently has: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/michael_specter_the_danger_of_science_denial.html

You may not agree with all of this (I don't agree completely) but he certainly has ideas and goals worth mentioning and worthwhile to take into consideration: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/stewart_brand_proclaims_4_environmental_heresies.html

For anybody with motivation problems and for anyone that wants to earn big bonuses later: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/dan_pink_on_motivation.html

Come on guys. You're not the regular audience of Glenn Beck, Oprah or American Idol. Surely something like TED should be more interesting than whether Justin Bieber goes to North Korea or not! :p

So in the interest of bumping this thread, I'll add two other talks I found interesting:

Stephen Petranek counts down to Armageddon - Stephen lists 10 ways we could be in really big trouble and some possible ways to solve or mediate the risks and damages. Grave message, funny presentation. :)

Rob Hopkins: Transition to a world without oil - Rob is the founder of the Transition movement, and talks a bit about how to prepare for the far-after-peak-oil times. :)
