Anyone for one last Succession game of RFC? I feel the need for a sense of closure now that there will be no more patches.

Hey, that does sound interesting. I've never participated in one before but the last one in RAND sounded fun. Have you had any thoughts about the game? I't should be a Conquest IMHO, and I'd love to see how you guys use all your Greece strategies you've built up over previous patches.
 
Who said there were any standards? Team effort is all that is required.

I can play the first round but then will have to bow out (since I'm going to ITALY in 3 days for 9 days!). My little netbook can't handle Civ4.
 
I'm doing the usually Rome/Florence/Pisa/Milan/Venice circuit (it's a catered tour by Trafalgar) with my mom and sister. I'll be at the Astoria Hotel in Florence on 7/25 and the Ata Hotel Concord in Turin on 7/26. They usually try to pack everything possible in these tours so I'll probably be at the hotel really late (after dinner, maybe around 8).

Ah, it's a tour. So, are you in Pisa the morning of 26? I can reach Pisa easily, it's very close, but that morning I have some stuff to do early, so I could be there in the late morning.
 
I already wanted to request that: 3000BC no vassals scenario arabian domination, which looks global and funny for a SC. It is unfortunate I'm currently far away from my home and can't be in. (although I had deleted RFC...)

On a side question, Rhye will you visit Japan next year?
 
It sounds like I'll be gone from Pisa very soon that morning (I was up on the tower before and I don't they allow tourists up there now because of the risk):
This morning after breakfast our first stop will be at Pisa with its famous Leaning Tower and cathedral in the Square of Miracles. Here there's time for photos before we continue our drive past the quarries of Carrara and the resorts of Portofino, Rapallo and Genoa, Columbus' birthplace. Then on to Turin where our orientation shows us the Antonelliana building and the Piazza San Carlo. Tonight why not sample a dinner of local specialties in a local restaurant? Seriously, the Chinese have a saying: "Admiring flowers while on a galloping horse." This is what I'll be doing while in Italy.
 
I'll be interested in watching this. I'd like to join, actually, but will be away from a computer for much of August.

But if it's still going in September and you need someone to fill in, ...
 
I would like to join if it's in regular RFC.

I would suggest Russia (600 AD start) and aiming for a domination victory: from Riga to Vladivostok.

Because the last SG was with Russia, my second suggestion is another colonization (aiming for domination) game as Portugal or England.

That's quorum, but we aren't going to be able to kick off straight away due to AP's travels. I'm happy to wait a week and a half or similar to begin.

So in the meantime, let's discuss the format.

I'm happy with the proposal put forward for an England Colonisation (Domination) victory. Here are my proposed goals for the SG:

1. We must avoid winning by UHV and win by Domination victory.
2. We need to try to establish the English Empire at its greatest extents. But we can't hold cities in unhistorical areas (i.e. areas that England at no stage controlled). Obviously English control of some areas changed with time (USA for instance) but England clearly never colonised Denver so we can't have a city there because that would be contrary to this particular goal.

Feel free to put forward any additional goals to give some extra flavour. We've got a week and a half to discuss!
 
I reckon any area coloured on this map is fair game for city locations, but greyed out regiosn are not possible for city locations. Cultural spread is going to be necessary to get Domination anyway, but cities themselves must be placed within historical English territory (even if it wasn't held into Victorian or later times).
