[RFC] The Rise of Portugal: An Alternative History of the Portuguese Empire

After the Reconquista, the period in which Christians re-conquered the Iberian Peninsula from Muslim domination, the city of Lisbon was founded on the waters of the Atlantic.




Anto'nio Gustavo soon rose to power in the Portuguese government, and established the Kingdom of Portugal. He reformed the government and founded Portugal's first monarchy, one that would last over 500 years. He also legalized slavery and engaged in the African slave trade.




Anto'nio Gustavo was now an old man, and passed away in December 3, 1270.

"Thou pastry is false!!", were his dying words. These were presumed to be the ramblings of an old man, but quickly became a "catchphrase" among many of his former subjects. It soon evolved to the modern saying," The Cake is a Lie."

The first ruler of Portugal sadly did not live to see the founding of the grand city of Cadiz on the far edge of the Mediterranean. The city became a stopping point for merchants traveling the sea, and led Portugal to become a leader of European finance and trade.





A trade ship bound from the city of Lisbon made contact with the Mali Empire for the first time.

After reading some of the past stories on this site, I've come to the conclusion that most stories "die" because the player stops halfway through. So to prevent that from happening in this thread, I've been trying to complete the game before I start writing updates so I won't lose interest in it. I'm currently at 1920, so I'm about halfway there. I'll write another update once the game is over. Comments are welcomed; they keep me motivated.

I've done the same, but I played the game few months ago, took the screenshots, uploaded most of images, and then commencing the story
