HoF mod?

Moving on...

I'm as excited (sweaty in fact) as anyone else is about the new release.

If the game continues along the same vein as four in terms of increasing modability, we may be rolling very happily indeed. In the meantime, GOTM training games sound like a good practice anyhow. Succession anyone? XD

If we are really lucky the game will have better anti-cheating measures pre-embedded and perhaps better score reporting than before (which I personally found cumbersome and not detailed enough).

If we are really, really lucky then all of the features needed to mod the previous versions are already built-in and we save our plucky computechnologically gifted compatriots some effort.

Sorry, the current modding environment doesn't support anything that is tamper-proof yet. Still hoping for a DLL SDK.

I guess you and the staff are speaking with Firaxis - is it likely a DLL SDK will be made available? I don't wish to be a negative nancy, but........

Any news?

I just got the Panzer "Shafernator" General (my last achievement) :D

“The Civ 5 achievement tutorial” is done.

Waiting for the real challenge to start The Civ 5 Hall of Fame.

We are going to start up the HOF as a BETA once I finishing the submit process. (Hopefully, by the end of the month.)

I don't hold out much hope for a HOF Mod in the near future. The best I can envision at this point is something to improve the data we get from the save file. (i.e for things like a map picture and "by turn" graphs.)

Any chance of starting to combine some of the good mods already created "out there", as a basis for future HOF mod?

Playing in the HOF beta's I have resisted the urge to use any mods (I assume you can't).

But I sure miss using the InfoAddict Mod, and the mod that lists how many resources you have.

OK, I love everything with HOF and especially the fact that replay or/and "undo" was impossible due to HOF mod was mandatory, at least a thought.

Do you mean what it's enough to enclose the "normal" save file and u can ensure no cheating (undo/replay)?

Yeah, initially no mods are allowed. We can see a list of mods used so would be able to approve mods that don't alter game play. Either that or build a simple HOF Mod that lists approved mods able to be allow to load. (ModBuddy functionality.)

What we can accomplish without the DLL code is something that remains to be seen. Not that we would ever provide details... :mischief:

1. Fastmove- might not seem like a big deal, but greatly reduces turn times for those of us with slower rigs.(especially archipelago - animating that many ships' movements is slow)

2. Infoaddict, hover info, or some variant- clearly

3. Atilla UI or variant - I hate having to do the math mid-turn to find out when my next RA matures, and the great person bar is just essential. The closest thing to BUG mod I have found.

4. End Turn, Civ 4 style - I just like the spacebar. :D

Actually, this might be quite hard, I imagine, since there is no regenerate map function in Civ V?

This is something that *really* annoys me, since my games take forever to load :( It's not that I particularly want to regenerate that much - the civ V starts seem to be a lot better than the starts handed out in Civ IV and if it's not an attempt on HoF a totally sensible start isn't critical. But still ... why not include it? Bit disappointing really, given all the experience with IV.

I have complete confidence what Denniz can fix it since he was the one how did MapFinder for Civ IV ;)

The lack of a regenerate function is a pain, esp. playing on a Huge map there I have to set up 12 opponents every time until I find a "nice" start point for a OCC game.

A "simple" regenerator script saving x number of maps (during the night) would be great.
