Not sure if this belongs in strategy or general discussions, but I figured general discussions was at least good enough for now. I'm also hoping I'm quick enough to be the first to post Babylon's info (so mods, if I'm NOT first, I apologize for duplicating a thread) :p

wow that sounds pretty weak :(

Whats the difference between their bowman and a normal archer then?

and also the walls dont seem particularly good.

Bowmen get +2 melee strength over generic Archers. Not a wonderfully powerful ability, but it means that your ranged attackers won't get knocked over with a strong wind.

Walls of Babylon are 50% better than generic Walls. If you're building Walls, that's a welcome ability.

Weak??
Thats 33% more ranged strength and 50% more melee strength on the archer. Aren't archers ranged strength 6?
[Compare the bowman to a strength 7 spearman.]

And craziness for spamming academies or lighbulbing techs.

And 20% cheaper walls with 50% more strength bonus.

Sounds strong to me.

is there any way (outside of spending another $60) that us physical copy buyers will ever be able to get our hands on Babylon?

Hmm, I really like the unique ability.

I dont really have a feel for how good the Bowman will be since I havent actually played the game yet, so who knows how strong ranged attacks will be. It sure looks good on paper though.

Walls never excite me, but maybe defensive play will be more prominant in CivV than it was in most games like this.

Yep. It strikes me that Babylon is a good peaceful civ this game.

Sounds Babylon will be a great civ. I would like a reference for ziggurats or Hammurabi's code, tough.

Cool looking leaderhead, but I wonder what those snakes represent (I'm not familiar enough with Babylonian mythology). Wouldn't have minded seeing some winged bulls (although I think Darius has some).

I like it. I don't think it's overpowered, but it suits my style. I think I'll start with a few other civs first though, to get into the new mechanics more.

Nebby looks so cool. Please tell me when someone uploads his diplomacy animations to YT.
Babylon's unique bonuses are very nice too. Too bad I preordered the regular edition. :/
