I was playing last night and and did not have iron. Then I traded 3 with napoleon for three turns. With this Iron I went to war and wiped Arabia off the map.

After the war I still do not have any iron resources connected, but the iron count shows 9 x iron.... Very odd.

EDIT:
It turns out the resource was under a city. However, when I turn on resource icons, or resource overlay in strategic view they are not shown.

On the topic of Iron, why is this stuff the rarest commodity in the game? 3 games played on Pangaea (sp) and not a single Iron resource anywhere on the map. I've got luxury resources coming out my ears, horses running around in vast herds but no Iron anywhere. Heck, Gold and Gems litter the landscape but still no Iron.

Here are the saves. Maybe I am missing something but I really dont know where the 9 iron are coming from.

I have a deal with napo for a couple. Which even ended in the second save IIRC...

Ok, thanks for looking into this.

I'll rephrase the bug:

Resources under a city do not have resource icon and do not show properly in the strategic view/resource overlay.

The monastery should only be able to be built in a city with an improved source of wine or incense.

However, look in the following screenshots and save files (1.0.1.135). The game is letting me build a monastery in the city of Buffalo Creek despite there not being any improved source of wine or incense nearby. Just end the turn on the turn 156 / year 1655 savefile, and you'll see that next turn, you'll be able to select the monastery to be built in Buffalo Creek. Alternatively, load up the turn 157 / year 1660 savefile to see the monastery already selected for construction in Buffalo Creek.

I don't even have any source of incense at all. I do have a source of wine near Osininka and a source of wine near Istanbul, but both are more than the five-tile limit away from Buffalo Creek, and definitely owned by the cities of Osininka and Istanbul, not by Buffalo Creek.

Bug confirmed. Buffalo Creek shouldn't be able to build a Monastery, but it can. You can even sell the Monastery after it has been built, and then build it again.

ETA: The save file was tested in version 1.0.1.141.

Eeek! Never mind, this is not a bug. The tile Buffalo Creek itself is on is a wine source. It's just not apparent at all because the wine icon doesn't show up on the map, neither on the Strategic View nor on the Normal Game View, because the city is sitting on it.

Which is a different bug (or at least, a very poor design choice).

I'll change the description of the bug to something like Resource icon not displayed when city is built on it. I actually thought of that possibility when checking the game, but I also thought a resource icon would be displayed.

 i guess we already have a thread for this...let me search...

Edit: Moderator Action: Threads merged.
I noticed it in the bug list.

partially fixed in 1.0.1.217 .You can see resource on map when you build city on it. Still cant see in strategic view or in foreign city

I'm recently running into issues about my aluminum supply not adding up. How do you check for resources under cities?
