Sweet, i havent gone home yet so im looking forward to seeing it.

Nice! I too think taht the death animation li pretty good! Good work Akula!! :goodjob:

Looks great Akula, thanks for the hard work. It's nice to finally have some alternate, modern surface warfare ships. Definately looking forward to the arrival of some Slava cruisers to your fleet.

This unit looks great. I'm glad to see some alternative to the aegis cruiser. I see this unit is more realistically proportioned than the other civ naval units but I think you should make it wider and make the superstructure and weapons larger to go with the other civ naval units. I beleive the Kirov and sovremny are more massive than the ticonderoga but they actually look smaller in the game. Have you considered doing the burke and kidd class destroyers. I know there is already an aegis destroyer but its really a modified aegis cruiser.

First I'll finish some soviet ships I'm working on (Slava, Sovremenny, Udaloy and Type 658 hotel submarine) after that i promised some other units.

When I finish these perhaps the Udaloy can be a destroyer and the Sovremenny can be an AEGIS (i'ts the size of a Leahy cruiser anyway)

dload not working?

Very nice akula!

I find that the only way to make a naval unit comparable with the Civ3 units supplied is to adjust everything to their size. Of course thats assuming that the Civ3 ships has the correct size. ;)

When I did my Perry Class Frigate back in December last year, Dannyevilcat supplied me with the dimenson of both a normal destroyer and the Perry Class so I used the destroyer as a base and more or less draw the Perry Class to size. :)

Of course that is not as easily done if you use a 3D program. But your ship looks great as it is other than a little narrow. :cooool:

Akula is definitely the current king of model naval units.

I would like to second the request for a true AEGIS cruiser, preferably with VLS. Got to have something to stand up to all these Rusky units your making. :D

Not being too critical, but the ship really lackes the size that made the real-life ship a floating monstrosity at sea. The overall shape of the ship is too slim and long, the Superstructure is not big enough and the Radar is simply out -of- proprtion. The Ship alone looks great but a lot more work needs to be done to make it resemble a Ushakov (Kirov) Class Battlecruiser

First i calculated my models lenght beam ratio to the real one and ended up whit a difference on 0,25 or approx. 7,5 meters

I don't think the superstructure is all that to small just look at the pictures

I agree that the radar is a bit too large
The ship more look norrow on the FLC than the model do

Yes perhaps Zulu
Unfortunately I think that is one of the things that won't show up on the FLC's
