Okay, I get how you're suppose to "change" these attributes with ModBuddy in the form of XML, I know that you just can't update your additions to a database like you can with the gamedata, what I don't know is--where the heck I can find the complete unit art defines files so that I can make these changes?

I'm adding some additional units to the game by resigning some of the original models with the fscale tag and changing the amount of models in the formation to make them look more like original units than just resized clones, but it's quite impossible without the original xml file which I cannot find.

I know the Queen of Iceni mod has these files, but they're edited to all appear as single "large" units in game, which is not what I want.

I need the original file with the original data on the fscales and formation data so that I can make changes and add to it.

I can't find that information anywhere on this forum.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I do greatly appreciate your reply, but what utility do I use to unpack them? Would it be the UnitModels.fpk file? None of those things are mentioned in the link.

nexus -> Script Browser -> extract pak

and yes it's in unitmodels.fpk

you'll need Civ5ArtDefines_UnitMembers.xml, Civ5ArtDefines_Units.xml and unitformations.xml

You just made my day, both of you :)

However when I run the extract pak script, nothing happens.

My File Browser in Nexus seems to think that it'll find my assets folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrater\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization V

I'm not sure why it thinks that when I set the path to the proper drive/folder (E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization), and it refuses to let me change it.

Plus there doesn't seem to be an uninstallation option for the SDK so I could just install it again.

Figured it out, but it took a way more ridiculously large amount of work and effort than it should have. So much for modding being made easier.
