This is my first Civ5 scenario, it based on Rhyes converted Civ4 Earth Map.
The ancient world is coming to an end. The once great Roman Empire has been split in half, the west ruled by Valentinian I and the East ruled by his brother Valens. Both Empire have threats to deal with, be it Barbarian migration or an all out war against Persia. In the far east China is becoming a more and more powerfull civilization, but one should keep an eye on India and Japan.

Nice scenario :goodjob:

This scenario needs a lot of work. The converted map is terrible, with unbalanced resources, rivers that start and go nowhere, and entire parts of the map blocked off. Also the invaders usually are wiped out and don't do anything. The war with Persia can get interesting, but both roman empires just end up powerful and intact on my plays.

mmm daft question how does one install this or should I say where

thanks

You need to unpack into the MyGames\Sid Meiers Civilization 5\Maps and when you're in game go to Mods then Singleplayer, then Set Up a Game and the you select it from the Map list and press the small button beneath the map title.

Perhaps adding more Civs at one point...

What about adding Hibernians and Picts ?
With Queen of Icenis should fill a void for Celts ?

What about primitive Arabian Faction ?

What about adding an African People ?

What about adding Xiong-Nu or Hunnic Empire ?

What about adding Maya or Native American Faction ?

What about adding proto-Viking faction ?

I know it could too much for you at the moment, but ?

What about a 1100 AD scenario ?

I don't have Civ5 yet to try this out, but at the very least you have to add in the Goths. You can't have a scenario based on the 'fall of Rome' without the Goths.

I would love to add the Goths and other barbarians but there are certain limitation concerning the map, by that I mean Europe being very crowded. I will upload a new version next week. Maybe I'll move the start date to 410 or later and add the Visigoth Kingdom of Toulouse. Next version will contain Axum( renamed Songhai), Maya(renamed Aztec) and the Iroquois.

@Theodorick
You are right concerning the map and I will remake the scenario on a better Earth Map as soon as one is available.

Silly question I know but did people from Carthago really use to come from East Europe?(according to his map )

Since these are all Germanic tribes they originally came from Germany (Germania)/Scandinavia; by 400 AD they had moved around a bit, as graphically shown on the map.

There is no such thing as one "China" in 365. There is almost certainly no unified Japanese political entity.

Not in 365. Besides, "Hibernians" were busily killing each other with great abandon. That's probably the chief reason they started moving to Wales, Cornwall, and Dal Riada.

I recommend the Lakhmids and the Salihids.

There are several Nubian states that might be useful.

They are not the same thing.

No recorded "Danes" for a hundred years or so.

Much more practicable than 365, and significantly less unbalanced.

My take: it's a terrible historical period for the Civilization series. If you feel compelled to do something for the Later Roman Empire, I recommend 457 or 468, when you can actually have Vandals, Visigoths, Suebi, Franks - well, that's debatable - all sorts of fun stuff coming out of the collapse of the Huns, and a still-viable WRE. ERE is problematic at both of those dates, with serious internal problems that are difficult to model in any Civ game, but since it survived anyway most people ignore them.

Thanks to all for the feedback.
Sadly my civ5 pc is broken and I will not be able to do any work on the scenario. But I am not content with the scenario and therefore I won't do much work on it. As mentioned earlier I took a very bad date to start off. It's also far to early for scenarios as the game is a mere month old.
With the Mongol DLC released I have a civ that can represent the Huns, maybe I will create a 450th scenario on a Europe map. But for now it's done with 365 A.D. and civ5 scenario making generally.

Still thanks to every for the feedback and ideas.:goodjob:

There is no such thing as one "China" in 365. There is almost certainly no unified Japanese political entity.

Japan was beginning to emerge as a cultural entity and Chinas culture had existed for hundreds of years.

I know that there wasn't a unified empire in the 360th A.D., but due to game limitations I had to add one. Sadly barbarians can't have cities in civ5, otherwise I would have created the Jin Empire and represented the other Chinese states with barb cities.

I also needed at least one or two big empires in order to compete with the ERE and WRE, this is whz I needed a big unified China.

I toyed a few and it seems game are able to have up to 22 Civs at once...

You could create a mod for your scenario for packing new civs only...

By default we have 18 Civs = you could create 19th 20th 21th and 22th civs...
