Hiawatha (Deity/standard/continent) settle close to Monty

- wanted to explore other methods than ICS, HBR beeline, improv lux over food tiles to sell for fast $300
- wanted to leverage RA in the early game with minimal $ and trading partner...despite of common thinking that RA's are too risky early on, and need lots of money and partner to make it useful
- wanted to challenge the idea that few cities = fail (or harder)
- wanted to figure out more diplomatic solutions to avoid early DOW on Deity

So I did these with only 2 cities (cap +1):
Result, Meachineary on T94, 525BC with GPP to spare...

Steps:

Spoiler :

- deter early DOW by (not HA beeline) using early resource to bribe into War
- more leader tendencies need to be figure out...in my experience, Romans are the easiest to buy into war, more collective data needed on this

- beeline Phil, save money (take loan if no money) to do 3 back to back RAs....
- doesn't have to be with many nations (ie 3 or less) because won't have enough cash initially anyways
- in this game I did 3 RA on Turn 59, 60, 63...this is the power of RA, consecutively
- the earlier you can do RA, the lower the cost is...I've seen them as low as $150...but there's no upside of signing them too early if you can't combo them later on.

Now this is the big secret  it's kinda flawed right now...hopefully they fix this in the update too....
Spoiler :

Here I set my eyes on Machinery for practice, (need to consider this when you first do your RA and time it right...ie # of turns needed to block later techs)
-obviously will be a good gambit for China...but then again, China's don't need CKN to be dominating..

Initial Tech Situation
Put 1 turn into techs you want to block (turns out RA won't give you techs began to research): Sail/HBR/Theology/CS/Currency
Finish up Construction and my 2 early RAs will net me Engineering and MC

Put 1 turn into Physics, 1 turn into Steel, to force RA Machineary

In this game, I didn't do dow on AI loan or terminate to get early RA....

obviously RA is not suppose to design for usage like these...but it does bring another different aspect to the game. What I am trying to say is...enjoy the game

if you don't abuse what you don't like (everyone dislike something differently), there's still lots of new concepts in the game that can be explore and enjoy...have fun :goodjob:

I know for sure that RA will give you techs you have research into, but it will save your beakers.

However I believe it will only do that if there are no "empty" techs available. Can't confirm this though.

Is it certain that a RA won't give you techs that are already being researched? I could have sworn that has happened to me once or twice.

I was trying to figure it out too...but in all of my games, haven't happen to me even once. The probability of the 3 techs RAing in sequence (out of 7 other techs) is slim.
It'll be good if RA will give techs you already started.

***edit...yes that's true...RA can give you techs u started

I've had it give me tech I'm already researching but it does then give you overflow. I feel that it does happen less and mostly when you get a bunch of RA together.

I've noticed RAs tend to 'dodge' whatever tech you're researching but when given a very limited choice - like 3 or fewer options - it will pick the one with the least number of beakers remaining, even if that's the one you have selected.
