Was about to head to bed and for some reason thought I'd check the download database before logging off.

2 hours later, it's 1am and I'm still playing with Nifskope and plotting how to use all these wonderful new units in my mod. Simply awesome work once again Bakuel!

Yeah, "a few", "some stuff" :rolleyes: I have one suggestion: never stop! :p

Amazing detail and accuracy, love the Khwarezmid face mask, love everything really. A dream pack come true, thank you! Obviously all goes into SoI, minus the modern guys, or chariots ;)

Yeah, "a few", "some stuff" :rolleyes: I have one suggestion: never stop! :p

Modesty is rare these days. Maybe Firaxis should think about hireing you for CiV, cause as far as i can see you surpassed the original unit art for CIV; until then you have my humble apreciations for your extraordinary work!

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

@Xyth
Well if it makes you feel better, I had to stay up all night uploading these units my internet connection is so bad. It's 9 AM for me right now. I mean, I'm usually a night hawk guy anyway, but this is really pushing it. :hammer2:

@embryodead
Yes well, it has been about five or four months since I uploaded those Turks so these are just some units that I made but never got around to upload. Well maybe that modest statement was pushing it a tad. :lol:
I'm glad your using the units! :D

@Castor_Troy
Thanks for the kind words Castor_Troy!:D
On a side note, I actually haven't purchased CiV as I am a bit short of cash at the moment and I preferred to wait for the patches (never can be too sure with PC releases these days!) and until the graphic modding aspects are figured out.

Uhh, wow!
Just... wow :eek:

Thanks Siam, I'm glad your using the units! And don't worry, I plan to keep making them.

Uhh, wow!
Just... wow :eek:

I'm really starting to think I should post the units more often so the upload won't build up like this.
:scared:

It's not necessary
Actually it's really wonderful to notice huge surprises like this :D:D
Little shocking, but in an awesome way ;)

PS: What civs do you plan on working next?
PS2: It's 11 AM for you without sleep right? And still manage to be awake? Wow again :)

PS: What civs do you plan on working next?

Yeah yeah, I know. I always ask you this right after a huge release. :blush:
Shame on me. Really. But this is my nature, always want more. Sry, and please keep up your amazing work...

Anyway, found your last answer:

@AbsintheRed
Thanks for your kind words in embroydead's thread, but as I don't want to clog up embryodead's thread, I will put my official list here,

The next major unit project is the Arabs, however, similar to the Khazars I will probably release some smaller unit sets as well. I was thinking about either making, some Timurids to fufill Capo's request from long ago (it depends on whether he still wants me to make them) or some Kipchaks.
After this my list looks something like this,
Major Projects,
China,
India,
Islamic Egypt,
Islamic Persia,

Smaller Projects,
Japan,
Khmer,
Bulgars,
Germany,
Netherlands,
Karakhitan/Liao
plus the rest of the vanilla civs as I continue my hair brained ambition to make flavor units for all of the civs, as well as many smaller unit requests.
A civ's position on this list is subject to change of course.

Now that the Arabs, Islamic Egypt, Islamic Persia, and both the Kipchak and Timurid sets are ready, I suppose you move further east.
The first is still China?

A "few units", you say? A "few units"?

Bakuel. Holy. F******. S***. You are absolutely INSANE. (In a good way. :mwaha:)

So yesterday morning, I woke up, seeing that you uploaded a few units. Then, last night, I saw that you had managed to upload so many it filled up the "new uploads" list. Then I woke up this morning, and you managed to outfill all the "new uploads" AGAIN.

There's just so much here... I have no choice but to waste more KB and MB for my mod just so I can stuff your units in. :D Who cares about pretty Civ5 leaders when we have a whole crapload of pretty Bakuel units!

By the way, what's next?

@cybrxkhan
Thanks for the kind words cybrxkhan and, as always I am glad your using the units! On the new upload thing, I always kind of feel bad about doing that. It feels like I'm spamming it with uploads! :crazyeye:

Well I usually stay up till around 4 AM or so, so it this isn't *that* big of a deal, I'm just a weird person with a weird sleep schedule. It's one of the bad habits of college live I haven't been able to shake.

On what I'm doing next, there has actually been a bit of a change of plans and I am making some medieval Russian units as Walter Hawkwood has supplied a lot information on them. Of course they won't be as large of unit packs as these middle eastern units so they shouldn't take as long, hopefully only four weeks (famous last words, more like four months!:p). I will probably try to also finish off Poland, Bulgaria, Netherlands and Germany. I will also try to make a smaller basic Hindu India pack as that was requested by the Capo. So yeah, probably a lot of smaller diverse packs rather then large packs with 10 plus units.

To update the unit list,

Major Projects,
Russia,
India,
China,
The Sahel,

Smaller Projects,
Basic India Pack,
Bulgars,
Germany,
Netherlands,
Poland,
Japan,
Khmer,
Karakhitan/Liao

Once again, things change and I may add or move civs around. So yeah, best not to make any long term plans on this list.

This is just a ridiculous amount of units, there is nothing to be said that hasn't aready been said. I am awestruck.

Its going to take me forever to sort this all out. :crazyeye:

Oh the modular civs I have to make now...

Bakuel, besides the fact that your next set looks pretty solid and awesome, I have three things to say -

1. I think you should also upload those lovely ladies you made for me. ;) If you want to, of course. I think some people might have use for them, perhaps as female great generals or something.

2. For your upcoming projects, how do you plan to do the sets, particularly the China one? As in, will you do a set for each major dynasty or something (then again, there are like 5000 dynasties for each era)? If you still need some references or pics, I might be able to help you with China.

3. Would you mind if I, er, "politely request" :)mwaha:) for some hero units that go along with the next unit sets you plan to do?

@The Capo

Does this mean we may see the Mamluks somewhere down the line? :mischief:

@cybrxkhan
I actually forgot about the Heroines! I'll upload them later, after I finish making a post in the announcement thread and take a nap, beleive it or not I need to take a break from uploading units for the moment.
For China I will probably do each major dynasty and period. I am not sure about pre-Han units, but I will probably make a few, unlike the Han and later periods actual concrete historical references are hard to come by. Basically, the *for sure* list for China is,

Han
Tang
Song
Ming
Qing

Of course there will be some other Chinese units, as you saw the Liao are on the list. However, in general the smaller dynastic states during Chinese many periods of decentralization will probably not get their own unit sets. I mean, I may make some Warring States period units, but I probably will not make unique units for Qin, Wei, Yue or whoever as it would get very silly, very fast. Just like I did not make unique units for every single Emir and Atabeg dynasty during the Later Abbasid years. I mean, do you really want to see units for the Mazyadids of al-Hilla or the Uqaylids? I fear that would have been pushing it even for me.

Of course, any and all research help is welcomed! I like Chinese history just about as much as middle eastern history and I don't like to play favorites with historical topics. So if you have any information or sources I would be glad to have it!

Also feel free to make more hero requests! They were a nice change of pace.

Another superb unit package by Bakuel!

S. U. P. E. R. units
Superb Ubercool Perfect Extreamly Realistic units :goodjob:

Edit:
Did I mention that your units look great ;)

The grenadier seems to be missing from the Mamluk industrial pack although it appears in the picture. Also, assuming its not too much trouble could I request a matching Antitank Infantry and SAM infantry for the Arab Revolt pack? The ones I'm using just look so utterly out of place and well... crap, compared to the quality of yours :)
