Okay. Just after the 1.0.0.62 patch updated I started experiencing glitches on the "Citizen allocation" screen... when selecting a new tile for a worker, the green icon does not appear, it stays black even though the total city yields change to reflect that tile being worked. Also, unworked tiles are appearing with a red crossed-swords icon imposed on 1/3 of the circle... leaving the other 2/3 black. Also when I don't select any manual allocation for citizens, the green icon is only 1/3 size (leaving the rest black.) Wonder icons (so far I can only see pyramids) have a very strange glitch on the icon.

I never had these problems before. I first noticed them in a modded game (Soldier personalities v3, Atilla's mod v3, Improved diplomacy and Random events mod v7). However, I rebooted and tried a fresh unmodded game and have the exact same results there, so it's not a mod/conflict issue with the new patch.

Interestingly, all of these issues ONLY happen on my laptop (Alienware m11x.) I cannot reproduce it on my desktop - it plays without any hiccups at all - and it ALWAYS happens on my laptop, though it never did prior to the patch.

Will upload screenshot in a moment since it'll probably be easier to see what I'm talking about.

Well looks like I have a second glitch to report now... can't get a screenshot because all that loads is a black screen when I try. This DEFINITELY was not happening pre-patch. Guess I have a second thread to start now so I'm not hijacking my own thread with a second report -.-

For the print screen issue, try Alt + Prtscr and then Edit/Paste into a graphics program. Are the video drivers on your laptop the most recent? Please post your DxDiag file. Finally, are you saying that the same exact save file causes a problem on your laptop, but not your desktop? If you haven't already done so, save a problem file from your laptop and load it on your desktop (and post it here, too - a non-modded game is preferred). Thanks!

Will do.

No, I was saying that every single game I launch on my laptop experiences all of the above issues, whereas none do on my desktop, all other conditions being identical. Screenshot incoming -- although I'm gonna need a quick brief on how to do the savegame bit.

EDIT**

DXDiag is ready to upload once I figure out how on this site. Alt+PrtScrn is still returning a generic black image. I'm happy to upload it but all you see is black high res screen of doom... not really worth it unless I can get a capture. Yes, all drivers are updated.

Desktop loads the game, experiences zero of the named issues. Unfortunately this means a screenshot is still not possible. Cell phone pic isn't going to work either. Looks like tech is ganging up on me today. -.- Will wait to see the response, I think I've about exhausted my current options.

We've found that Alt + Prtscr doesn't work on all systems. When you press the Prtscr key in game, it should create a file in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\(your name)\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\ScreenShots. They have a .tga extension and are in Targa format, a fairly old one. See if any of your graphics programs can handle them. If not, there are freeware programs that can, but I'd have to look it up. If all else fails, attach the .tga file. I can convert it to another format and post the screenshot.

To attach save games or screenshot files, scroll down the page when you reply and look for the Manage Attachments button. You'll get a box that allows you to browse for files and attach them.

I'll look at the files you posted and get back.

Right, I run Picasa 3, I can load the images no problem at all, and in fact it's the same program my desktop uses so I know it's not a viewing program issue. Desktop can do screenies all day long, no problems, same program. PrtScrn and Alt-PrtScrn are registering an image in the folder that it's supposed to, it's just the image that renders is solid black, as though there were no images on the screen when I take it. I've tried giving it various degrees of "extra time" to laod the image to see if it was a rendering issue - shouldn't be with my gfx card but figured it was worth a shot - but neither time nor reload nor reboot nor changing screens on laptop resolved the issue or altered the results, just an endless string of "blank" images in the destination folder.

Again, desktop works flawlessly. Just can't get an image of the other error because it doesn't experience that, either.

Re: "Manage attachments" Tyvm.

Okay, two black screens of doom uploaded (and converted to JPEGs) as ordered. Still don't see anything though @.@

The worker allocation graphics display is normal on my system. Have you tried going to the video options screen and lowering the settings? That shouldn't be necessary, but why don't you try it? The patch notes didn't mention any increased graphics requirements, so we could report this as a problem if you had to decrease your settings to make the patch work.

I actually did try that, no effect. On another fun note, trying to load a different savefile to my desktop from the modded game I was playing when the glitches appeared on my laptop causes Civ V to CTD. No idea if this is new or not as I haven't tried sharing saves between computers previously. Still seems I should be able to do so, especially considering I'm running the same versions of the same mods on both (and loading the unmodded savefile I uploaded in this thread onto my desktop from my laptop did not cause any issues.)
