Civilization 5 – Game of the Month Training Series Game 4

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\//////////////////////////////////////////
Welcome to the fourth game in the GOTM V Training Series! There are plenty of new features in Civilization 5 to explore and the Training Series games will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out these new features in a friendly environment. You are all encouraged to post your questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads described below. You can read more about the GOTM and Training Series concept in this thread. Before going into the details of this game, we would like to ask you to abide to our most sacred rule: don’t replay any turns. If you make a mistake, accept it and try to recover. It’s better to do the bad moves in the Training Series instead of in the actual GOTM competition once it starts.
An update to Civilization 5 may occur during this game. In some ways, we are testing whether or not it is feasible to run a game that, if left alone, updates itself during a game cycle. In order to turn off automatic updates, you go into your STEAM client and right-click on "Sid Meier's Civilization V" and choose properties. The second tab on the left of the window that expands reads "UPDATES", please click on it. You should then find a line that says "Always keep this game up to date". Please click on the arrow at the end of the line and it will expand and then select "Do not automatically update this game". Should your STEAM client software patch itself to a new version, you must repeat this procedure in order to maintain no update status as automatic updates is the default. Good Luck!
In this game you will play as Hiawatha and lead the Iroquois to a magnificent victory. It’s a standard sized fractal map played at Emperor difficulty and at epic pace. The preferred victory is Diplomatic, although all victory conditions are enabled. To achieve a diplomatic victory, you will need to learn the Globalization technology and build the United Nations. You must then convince your fellow AI that you are worthy to rule the world. Let's see if there are any flaws in this victory condition?
edit - Please note that you are only allowed to build Oxford University one time. I read in the HoF thread that some players were selling their Oxford city and building it multiple times.
Civ V - TSG4 game settings
Playable Civ: Iroquois - Hiawatha
Number of AI Opponents: 7
Number of City-States: 16
Map type: Fractal
Map Size: Standard
Difficulty Level: Emperor
Game pace: Epic
Game options: Quick Combat is disabled
Playing as Hiawatha, you possess The Great Warpath. This allows your units to move through Forests and Jungles, within your borders, as if it is a road. These tiles can also be used to establish trade routes. You can train the Mohawk Warrior, which replaces the Swordsman, and which has a major combat bonus when fighting on Forest or Jungle tiles. You can also build The Long House, which replaces the Workshop. It increases the city's production output for each forest within the city's radius and allows for the creation of one Engineer specialist.
Information about threads associated with TSG
TSG Announcement thread (this one). This thread is used to announce the game and clarify the settings and rules (don’t be afraid to ask questions). It’s also used to discuss the game before you start, and post problems with opening the save. Please don’t post any information from a game you have started. Instead use the next thread.
Game In Progress thread. This thread is used to discuss the game once it's on the way. There are no reading or posting restrictions as such (apart from normal decency), although we encourage players to use the spoiler tags for screenshots. Here you can post questions related to the game and share your achievements/anger/frustration/victories while you play.
After Action Report thread. In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state (preferably in the post title) your victory date and score, as recorded in the Hall of Fame, and the most important: your path to glory! Please also attach a Civ5Save file made after your victory or defeat. The first post will be updated with the results at the end of the two week period (sorted by date and score). Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences. The game will not be closed as such, but after two weeks, the results will be compiled, and will not necessarily be updated with reports coming in afterwards.
This game runs for two weeks and ends Monday 6th December.
The Save can be found here.
