Introduction

Spoiler Introduction :
Welcome to Shattered Space, a game of interstellar intrigue. To begin, allow the historical records to get you up to speed on what the galaxy is like these days.

Earth, within star system Sol, is a shadow of the past. When humanity discovered interstellar space travel through the secret of the hypergate, the race spread itself across the stars. Some planets were terraformed and settled, while others engaged in large-scale arcology construction projects. All of the new star systems formed a Federation, with Earth as its capital.

For a time, the Federation flourished. The Agency, an organization of elite police squads and sinister detectives, was the muscle of the Federation government. Rumors began to spread about the Agency's involvement in a campaign of control, and worlds beyond Earth began to hear the cries of cheated traders, murdered activists, and even religious persecution, all conducted by the hands of the Agency.

The Agency feared outright rebellion and the crumbling of the powerful structure that had built fabulous wealth and control. The Federation had a representative government, but this was simply a front. Earth acted more as the grand enforcer of an empire.

Seeking some kind of aid, the Agency's top researchers discovered the fabled system known only as Deva. Hundreds of years ago, telepaths from every area of Earth honed their mental energies and created for themselves "spaceships" which were actually manifestations of their minds acting as shells. They disappeared from Earth, settling into a system called Deva. The Agency, upon having their scholars learn of these secrets, scoured the galaxy in search of Deva. When it was finally found, the Devans had developed a unified, peaceful society based within a single system, that contained a single planet, and several moons. The Agency sent a massive star fleet and conducted large-scale orbital bombardment of the Devan settlements, murdering most of them, and enslaving many. The most powerful Devans manifested themselves into elegant and powerful spaceships (or space creatures of sorts), but they were too late. These manifestations fled, and have not been seen since.

The Agency thus began to conduct genetic and other sinister experiments on the captured Devans, infusing their most evil agents with psychic powers and raising from scratch their own psychic army. The Agency began to obtain the most powerful starfleet in the universe by using these beings as its slaves. The systems in the Federation thus began to cower in fear. They had no choice but to comply to the whims of Earth and its muscle.

These evil plots thus sparked DEIWOS. DEIWOS, a terrorist organization in the viewpoint of the Federation and the Agency, realized that the only way Earth could quickly reach other systems was because of the innovative hypergate technology. A hero of this resistance was a renegade telepath, an agent of the Agency who was genetically mind-merged with a Devan. This hero had dual personalities and two beings lived within his head. The Devan mind prevailed and purged the agent into the nether-psyche. This powerful telepath gained the trust of the Agency by committing horrendous crimes. He gained the codes to all of the galaxy's hypergates and shared them with DEIWOS. Together, they organized the systematic hacking and destruction of the hypergates. Thus, the galaxy was plunged into a Dark Ages. Communications and physical fleets took too long to reach any other members of the Federation.

Earth and the Sol system were left hopelessly alone. The turned Agency agent launched a telepathic war, freeing many of the Devan slaves and creating massive fluctuations in the "energy" of the universe. Every system outside of Sol, realizing how better their lives had become after the destruction of the hypergates, refused to reconstruct them and embraced the Dark Ages. Hundreds of years passed. The hypergates were also the source of interstellar communication. All of that was now gone.

This is where we are now. During these hundreds years, the galaxy is now on the brink of a Renaissance. All systems have discovered the individual faster-than-light-speed drives necessary to send ships from system to system without the use of hypergates. Think of a car driving from point A to point B (our current technology), instead of a whole fleet going from point A to point Z in an instant (hypergate technology, which will never be used again in this galaxy). Hypergate technology requires a powerful resource that only the Agency had control of. As part of their plan, DEIWOS and the Devan agents completely destroyed all of this resource and its mysterious "source moon".

DEIWOS no longer exists, to your knowledge. The Agency no longer exists, to your knowledge. Devans are somewhere out there. Some went insane upon learning of their brainwashing and killed many. Others were bred as slaves and have now become mercenaries. Earth has been completely destroyed, along with all moon and mars colonies. The entire system of Sol is deemed uninhabitable.

The galaxy is not only space travel and spaceships, but also one of great energy and sorcery, the source of which is the human mind. Advanced telepathy has become widely acknowledged by most star systems, as many of the Devans implanted themselves across the galaxy to teach others their ways. This has resulted in many different types of Devans, some more noble than others. Many societies still view these telepaths as evil-doers and are afraid of their power. While it is well-known that Devans exist because of past events, their existence and presence is often hidden and their numbers are small. Many Devans keep themselves anonymous or undercover, while others do not even know they have telepathic abilities. Some know they have telepathic abilities, but have no way to "train" or hone their skills.

This is the galaxy we are plunged into. Welcome to Shattered Space.

920: Star-states begin rediscovering each other as they begin discovering their own respective versions of faster-than-light-speed travel.
1135: Current date.

There is a 300 year gap during the time of colonization, and then a 615 year gap between the end of the Federation and now. That's a potential 915 years of history that needs writing for each star-state.

Some other info:
  • Humans can now live up to 100-200 years old.
  • Even though you have 915 years of history to write, remember that the Dark Ages was mostly a period of great scientific and cultural decline.
  • Of course some culture can come out of a star-state during this time, much like the Edo period of Japan, but the star-states were closed off to each other.
  • No new technology was invented during the Dark Ages aside from faster-than-light-speed travel (near the end). Each star-state was locked in its star system more or less, so the worlds within those systems adopted a sort of feudal structure.
  • Life expectancy became considerably lower, back to about 80-100 during the Dark Ages.
  • During the Dark Ages, your system may have been completely unified, or perhaps some worlds were unified, and a collective ideology was created (both during colonization and the Dark Ages). The Dark Ages simply means that there were basically "barbarian" elements disrupting governments and no new advances in technology.
  • Star-states have now had 215 years to re-unify their planets/moons and get their acts together. The warlords, pirates, and so on, have now expanded to the galaxy at large due to the creation of faster-than-light-speed travel. Star-states are now more powerful to keep those elements out of their space (most of the time).
  • Earth and the Federation are practically ancient relics in this galaxy.
  • Devans are not in government and have been in hiding. Remember that. No Devan-based star-states.

I need whoever wants to, to write a star-state profile:

Spoiler Create A Star-State :
Name of Star-State
Description of Star System: See below.
Homeworld: What is the homeworld of the star-state?
Ideology: What drives your star-state? Why was it colonized hundreds of years ago?
Government: What is holding the star-state together? Who is the current ruler?
History: Give us a history of your star-state. Please separate into "Colonial Era" and "Dark Ages" historical records.

So within each star-state, there are planets and moons. Underneath the Description of Star System category, please separate planetary bodies as such (please use small font):

Name of Planetary Body
Physical Size: 1E means 1 "Earth" and 1M means 1 "Moon". You can adjust your planetary body sizes according to these standards (so a 2E planet is twice the surface area of Earth, and a .5E is half the surface area of Earth).
Climate & Topography: What is the climate of this world and what does the world's physical landscape look like?
Flora & Fauna: Tell us about any notable plants and animals found on this world.
Settlements: What are this world's cities and other centers of humanity like?
Population: How many people are on this world?

Note #1: The entire population of any star-state will not exceed 10 billion people at this time.

Note #2: You can be as vague or as specific as you want to, down to naming each major city on every planet/moon, to just a vague description of what cities are like in general on that planet/moon.

Note #3: Remember you are not playing as this star-state! You are simply creating a star-state to put into our galaxy that you will play within as a character. Still, I want you to spend time on this. Be creative, but not ridiculous.

Placeholder. Please note that the rules have not been posted. This is not the time for rules, but only for pre-planning our galaxy.

How many systems do you want?

Federation of Azure Star-State
Description of Star System:
4 planets.
Azure I
Physical Size: 0.8M
Climate & Topography: Arid, no atmosphere. Think Mercury.
Flora & Fauna: Nothing.
Settlements: None.
Population: 0

Azure II (aka Blue lark)
Physical Size: 0.7E. Note this planet orbits the sun counter to all other planets (like Venus).
Climate & Topography: Lots of craters, a few huge volcanoes, many canyons. Water exists in the canyons almost exclusively, forming a kind of river system with a few small seas shrouded in mists near the equator.
Flora & Fauna: Almost nothing outside the canyons. Lots of indigenous amoebas live in the river fjords. Plants live both in water and on the banks, but almost all indigenous land flora has been replaced with Earth species. Fauna includes many birds, rabbits, and a few, mostly tame, cows and pigs. For some reason, horses don't stand this planet and die in a few weeks when landed there.
Settlements: Several cities have been built in the canyons by the rivers. They usually have a history of being independent city-states, yet they band together as Blue larkians, and Azure. Main cities are: Tortuga, Pirate Cove, Shelter, Niagara. The Floating City is the capital of the system.
Population: 900 million.

Azure III
Physical Size: 1.1E
Climate & Topography: Earth-like. About 55% water. Lots of lands, but lots of them are under polar icecaps and the rest is made of 2 main continents, one spanning the north hemisphere, one in the south, with a few islands in the middle. Most of the north continent is a hot desert. The planet is extraordinarily rich of all kinds of ores and metals. It has been heavily terraformed, but later on heavily nuked.
Flora & Fauna: Earth plants and animals. Rats, wheat, flees. And mushrooms. Many mushrooms of all kinds that grow in abandoned mine tunnels. Many are hallucinogens, trance-inducing stuff, more or less toxic, supposed to help bring out telepathic abilities, supposed to shield from these, and generally a junkie's heaven. There are many mutated animals too, usually sickly beasts living near radioactive areas, but the pink dingos are the most notable: Hairless wild dogs who live in packs and tend to attack men and cattle. These monsters roam the radioactive areas of the planet and the deserts of the north continent.
Settlements: The biggest city is definitely New New Capitol City. Old Tortuga and Mineshaft II are also worth mentioning. These cities are on par with Azure II cities, centers of civilization and spaceflight. The rest of humanity lives in many small settlements and villages and are absolutely backwards, being separated from each other by large spans of radioactive areas, fighting pink dingos, and surviving as they can with pitiful technology (something like mid 20th century).
Population: 2 billion. Most of them are scattered. The big cities and civilised regions don't count more than 300 million inhabitants.

Azure IV (aka Blue Beard)
Physical Size: 20E
Climate & Topography: Gas planet. Has several moons, all of them barren and hostile.
Flora & Fauna: None.
Settlements: None. Actually, one of the moons, Earring, is settled.
Population: None.

Earring (biggest moon of Azure IV)
Physical Size: 0.6M
Climate & Topography: Barren. Lots of crater impacts. No atmosphere. Big domes house a small human population.
Flora & Fauna: Strictly controlled. A few crops, chickens, cats, mice, bees, but very limited. Inhabitants are utterly paranoid of any incoming germ, seed or animal.
Settlements: One vast multi-dome colony.
Population: 1 million.

Homeworld: Blue Lark (Azure II)

Ideology: Settled for the great riches of Azure III, the system is now a mess of pirates and traders who all fight fiercely for their own independance and freedom. This is basically a pirate nest.

Government: The Federation of Azure is a loose alliance of small states who recently grouped together under the rule of Chairman Henri Cassius, as the first FTL ships were sighted in the system. The Federation rose out of fear of foreign invasion, however unrealistic it may seem to many.

History:
S.D. 128, Azure is discovered. Azure III is found out to have an extraordinary array of minerals, but its atmosphere lacks oxygen.
S.D. 154, the Comex corporation manages to convince the Federation to launch a small fleet to establish a mining colony on the planet.
S.D. 198, Azure III terraformation is complete. Comex owns the big city of Capitol City and most of the settlements of the planet. The corporation essentially owns the whole world, even though it's technically a free world of free entreprise, but Comex corrupts enough people in the Federation to actually own the planet.
S.D. 267, the miners city Mineshaft I revolts against the Comex and manages to buy its freedom and becomes the property of another terran corporation, Matsushira.
S.D. 268, an unexplained accident destroys the city of Mineshaft I.
S.D. 270-275, Mineshaft I survivors and a few unhappy Azure III inhabitants, backed by Matsushira funds, build a rocket fleet and settle Azure II. The settlement is a very chaotic process, with rockets being build haphasardly by people running away from an oppressive government. The settlers build many cities, Shelter and Tortuga being the first ones.
S.D. 276, Matsushira and Comex corporations reach a deal, which stops the emigration from Azure III and leaves the Azure II settlers stranded. Azure III gets new settlers from other Federation worlds.
S.D. 294, the Earring scientific colony is founded by Matsushira executives.
S.D. 303, a rocket ship from Azure II launches an attack upon Azure III and blasts the Comex headquarters. Retaliations from the Comex and the Federation follow, but the city responsible for launching the attack has apparently been disbanded and its people scattered among the other cities. Still, retaliation is harsh and Azure II population suffers a lot.
S.D. 303-517, the Federation pressures the Comex and Mitsushira to produce even more in favor of the Earth and the Federation interest. The corporations in turn pressure the population even more. Those idealists who dream of freedom look at Blue larkl in the sky and some even manage to flee there. A few skirmishes happen, where Azure II inhabitants usually suffer for trying to 'liberate' Azure III as they systematically lose to the Federation and corporation forces.
In S.D. 517, the two hypergates of the system, both located in Azure III, are bombed by DEIWOS agents operating pirate ships from Azure II. With the gates out of order, Comex and Matsushira have noone left to sell their precious ores to. Matsushira corporation quickly decides to take the rich agricultural regions of the planet from the hands of Comex, and launches nuclear attacks upon Capitol City, which is turned into a radioactive husk. New Capitol City is founded.
S.D. 517-524, The Corporations War: Comex slowly builds back forces, and a war is fought between the corporations. Federation ships are blown up both by DEIWOS pirates from Blue lark and by the corporations who don't want them to support their enemy.
S.D. 524, peace is attained. Azure III is bleeding. Earring is totally independant as Matsushira operatives over there were independent from the mining planet hierarchy but obeyed Earth directly. Azure II is preparing itself for the future.
S.D. 531, Azure II launches attacks upon Azure III. Nukes destroy many cities and mines, but mostly, any spaceship structure or port is systematically destroyed. From this day onwards, Azure II spaceships make sure that Azure III cannot build any spaceship itself and the pirate planet gets a monopoly over space travel in the system, and over any air travel over long distances on Azure III.
S.D. 540-541, The First Pirate war. The Azure II cities of Pirate Cove and Tortuga fight each other, mostly through proxy wars on Azure III.
S.D.540-926, Pirate era. After the First pirate war, periods of peace and war succeed each other. The corporations Comex and Matsushira become secondary powers and soon almost forgotten while the true powers are the pirae cities of Azure II, which fight each other for influence on the big sister planet.
S.D. 926, New Capitol City revolts. In the cliffs of New Capitol City, a hidden base has been built secretly by the heirs of Matsushira, and a small space fleet is launched, which destroys several blue lark ships. Azure III is no longer unprotected from the pirate planet attacks, and all the planet soon joins under thbe flag of New Capitol City.
S.D. 929, The Pirate Alliance, the cities of Tortuga, Niagara and Pirate Cove ally themselves and launch a concerted attack against Azure III, but the bigger planet manages to churn out more ships and defends itself. They prove unable to launch an effective counter attack on Azure II, however.
S.D. 940, an FTL ship is sighted and lands on Earring. Earring officials, xenophobists and fearful, capture the crew and the ship. The foreigners will never go back home, but Earring suddenly sees all other star systems as a threat. They realise their small population and lack of resources won't let them fight offenders from foreign worlds, so they decide to ally themselves with Tortuga in a pact of defense. This is the Tortugan version of history, though. Earring citizens say that Tortugan spies stole the data from them. Anyway, however it happened, Tortugans learn the secret of FTL travel.
S.D. 948, The Cataclysm. Tortugans use FTL ships and launch them into Azure III atmosphere to launch an attack upon New Capitol City. The result is quite horrible. The ships reach Azure III in seconds and nuke New Capitol City and all major cities of the planet. Only Mineshaft II is spared, out of sheer luck. The population of Azure III is reduced to almost nothing, and everyone in the system is horrified. Azure II cities of Niagara, Pirate Cove and Shelter ally themselves and manage a land attack against Tortuga (actually more of a river attack) and take it. The nukes are destroyed and banned. Tortugan leaders are summarily executed and most of Tortuga population exiled on Azure III, where they found the city of Old Tortuga.
S.D. 949, Azure II citizens build New New Capitol City on Azure III in one of the least irradiated places of the planet.
S.D. 955, FTL ships are built again, as Earring finally shares the secrets with all other nations. Soon, the ships are sent to scan the nearby star systems.
S.D. 993, The first nearby inhabited star system is discovered, and trade is established.
S.D. 997, Extra-azure ships blockade Earring and threaten the small colony. They demand that Earring inhabitants board their ship and be taken as slaves. A fleet is launched from Niagara and fights the aliens, destroying their ships.
S.D. 1012, the Federation of Azure is founded, to better defend the star system from foreign invaders. The capital city of the Federation is Niagara.
S.D. 1014, A suspect fire destroys all the archives of Niagara. Ewtra-azure alien terrorists are suspected.
S.D. 1038, Floating City founded. The Federation of Azure government settles a new city, made of ships that travel along the rivers of the vast canyon system of Azure II.
S.D. 1047, First Preemptive War. the Azure Federation launches a war fleet against the nearby system of Tolium, which is supposed to prepare a strike against Azure. Slaves are brought back in order to work in the radioactive mines.
S.D. 1047-1135. The Azure Federation grows into a solid government uniting all the city-states of the system, which means all the population except the (heirs of the) survivors of the nuclear strikes of 948.
S.D. 1048-1054, 1087-1089. Tolium Wars. Wars against Tolium. These are mostly wastes of resources for both star systems, as FTL ships are expensive and there is little to be taken from the other star system planet. The 1089 war ends up with both star governments agreeing to stop hostilities as they are too expensive in both lives and money for both systems.

Haseri: Any number. But a player at this point is limited to only coming up with 1 star-state.

Cesare: Excellent!

I want to also note that I want to have a pretty diverse set of star-systems. Also, during the Dark Ages, planets and moons within the same system were able to communicate and travel to one another (unless your history specifically mentions otherwise).

I know I'm probably forgetting to mention something else.

Oh, I should mention this:

Currency
This NES is conducted using the currency "credits". This can be abbreviated using "C", or even "元" (yuan). The reason "元" is commonly used is due to the increased Chinese influence over Earth before the creation of the (now extinct) Federation. Despite the fact that China does not even exist any more, Chinese culture is remains prevalent in some areas of the galaxy, and this symbol will sometimes be seen as indicating credits. When you see this symbol indicating credits, you are most-likely in a predominately Chinese area. Sometimes the symbol "¥" (yen) will be used in areas that are predominately Japanese. The symbol for US dollars, the Euro, or the pound are all obsolete and have been replaced with the galactic standard "C".

Also, about terraforming:
Prime Terraforming meant that most worlds could be changed relatively easily if given enough time (think Genesis Project in Star Trek II). However, there were many side-effects of Prime Terraforming, such as a destruction of the planet's indigenous nature, strange sicknesses in the human population that arrived to the planet, and mutations. This was not always the case. Some instances of terraforming were extremely successful. Other types of terraforming, beyond Prime Terraforming, were the slow-moving types. Some of those processes are still underway today. Prime Terraforming itself is no longer used. In fact, most scientists do not even know specifically how it was done in the past. Prime Terraforming was not used very often, actually. Your system will probably have never witnessed it.

(Note: The actual origin of Prime Terraforming is a huge secret, and will be a story-line in our NES.)

Normal terraforming does exist, though, and has been practiced. By this I mean what we know about terraforming today IRL being put into practice. This can range from a whole planet to simply changing a single desert into a forest. However, this process is time-consuming and expensive. It requires a skilled team. Some planets are left in a half-terraformed state because they ran out of money or skilled personnel, or the process did not go as planned, while others have not even tried terraforming and the citizens have adapted to their harsh climates.

I'm in. Drafting a character and a system now

Song System (Republic of Song)

Description of Star System: 5 planets, 16 moons
Spoiler Planetary Bodies of Song System :
Yinglong
Physical Size: 1.5E
Climate & Topography: This world is 20% land, 80% water (oceans, lakes, rivers, etc.). Most areas of Yinglong are in a state of perpetual rain. This is usually a light downpour, but sometimes turns into heavy hurricanes.
Flora & Fauna: There are massive amounts of sea-life and other water creatures, the likes of which are extremely different from anything found on Earth. The most terrible and ferocious of these is the Shuilong, which is similar in appearance to a mythological dragon. It is a long eel-like water creature that grows to massive lengths. The scales of this creature are extremely valuable and there are expeditions to catch them. These often come back empty-handed, or are never seen again. A small group of militants found on one of Yinglong's moons will often come down to the planet to hunt Shuilong as a rite of passage for their younger warriors. There are many different types of plants. In fact, the 20% of land on this planet is basically a giant rain forest.
Settlements: This world's capital is called Jinghong, and is a modern city found in the rain forest. Parts of it are domed, parts of it are raised above the rain forest and floating in the sky, and parts of it stretch out from the coastland onto raised platforms above the ocean. There are many raised cities, with pillars coming out from the ocean floor and cities rising from platforms fixed onto these pillars. The business of constructing these foundations or repairing the foundations is extremely risky, and it is often a well-paying job. There are also settlements in the rain forest land area beyond the capital. These are mostly smaller outposts. There are a few underwater research stations as well. And of course, coastal mining outposts.
Population: 2 billion

Ganying (moon of Yinglong)
Physical Size: .5M
Climate & Topography: This small moon has been terraformed. It is much more peaceful than the always-rainy Yinglong, but there are little to zero natural resources on this moon. The moon's terraformed state consists of large grasslands, rivers, some small mountains, and a single continent. It is often considered a getaway for the wealthiest Yinglong citizens.
Flora & Fauna: Resembles the flora and fauna of central Yunnan province, China, which this moon was designed to appear as.
Settlements: There are small towns and there is one larger city called Kunming.
Population: 100 million

Leng I
Physical Size: 3E
Climate & Topography: Leng I is one of the four other planets in the Song System that is a barren ice world. It is considered the most tame of those ice worlds.
Flora & Fauna: There are some vicious indigenous creatures here, most of which have not even been documented.
Settlements: There is a single research outpost.
Population: N/A

Wen (moon of Leng I)
Physical Size: 1.2M
Climate & Topography: Wen is the single moon of Leng I. It is naturally habitable, but did require some terraforming. This moon contains 3 continents and small seas. The world is lacking in natural resources and contains massive, vast deserts and plains. There are several large canyons, larger than the Grand Canyon back on Earth.
Flora & Fauna: There are some unique desert critters and strange variants of cacti. Within the small seas there is a type of shrimp which is a delicacy.
Settlements: Several small-sized cities, all of which are struggling due to the lack of resources and the halting of any worthwhile terraforming in the deserts, which is the reason these cities began in the first place. Since then, the population here has adapted to rather hot climates and the vast canyons. Many settlements are constructed using large canyon overhangs and air-conditioned domes.
Population:350 million

Leng II
Physical Size: 7E
Climate & Topography: Leng II is a relatively huge planet covered in ice and snow.
Flora & Fauna: There are some vicious indigenous creatures here, most of which have not even been documented.
Settlements: None.
Population: N/A
Other Note: Leng II has 4 moons, all of which are solid rock covered in ice.

Leng III
Physical Size: 10E
Climate & Topography: Leng III is a massive planet covered in ice and snow.
Flora & Fauna: There are some vicious indigenous creatures here, most of which have not even been documented.
Settlements: None.
Population: N/A
Other Note: Leng III has 7 moons, all of which are solid rock covered in ice.

Leng IV
Physical Size: 14E
Climate & Topography: Leng IV is a massive planet covered in ice and snow.
Flora & Fauna: There are some vicious indigenous creatures here, most of which have not even been documented.
Settlements: None.
Population: N/A
Other Note: Leng IV has 3 moons, all of which are solid rock covered in ice.

Homeworld: Yinglong
Ideology: The Chinese were responsible for much of the galaxy's colonization efforts. The Song System was one of the first to be discovered. The rainy planet of Yinglong was settled and large ore deposits were found, most of which were deep under the sea. Only the brave came to Yinglong. Life here usually involved mining deep-sea minerals and being constantly threatened by large, vicious creatures. The rain forest which was habitable was discovered to contain many different types of dyes, woods, and natural healing oils. These industries were also developed. Research stations in the sea became popular, and thus Yinglong began to host a large population of scientists. Some of the galaxy's first over-water cities were founded on Yinglong. The Song Republic's overall ideology is one of the tough miner, but mixed with a delicate and refined culture. Of course, the fringe elements of Song culture may differ. Such as, the militants on Ganying or the pirate-friendly enclaves on Wen. The Republic of Song is open to contact with other star-states and has developed a sizable scouting fleet. They are not unfriendly, but are definitely cautious. For a time, Yinglong provided ore for the Federation's fleet. That is all over now.
Government: A democratic republic. Each inhabited planetary body receives a certain amount of representatives depending on the population of that planetary body. This is called the Congress.
History: The colony on Yinglong was one of the first outside of the Sol System, but it took decades to actually develop and become successful. It took a long time for valuable minerals to be discovered in the deep sea areas. Once they were discovered, the Federation took great interest in the Song system and for a time it thrived. There were several terrorist bombings of coastal mining outposts as DEIWOS began to develop, attempting to thwart the construction of Federation fleets (in addition, other mining areas in other systems were also bombed). When the Federation ended, the Song system rejoiced, for many of the miners had been underpaid or even made slaves by the Agency.

Star State of Yggdrasil

System Description:

Surt
Physical Size: 2 M
Climate & Topography: Arid, no atmosphere. Tidally locked
Flora & Fauna: Nothing.
Settlements: None.
Population: 0

Jotunheim
Physical Size: 2 E
Climate & Topography: Dry desert like surface, criss crossed with huge mountain chains. wracked by huge storms regularly. Human Settlements are viable only on the mountain tops, which are snowy and humid, and so remain fairly small.
Flora & Fauna: The lowland surface has been colonized by many earth insects over the years as well and some larger animals, mostly reptiles, which were brought as zoo exhibits. Many of these have grown to be very large, and have gained the collective term Wyrm. The nearly constantly snowy human inhabitable areas sport packs of feral dogs, descendants of those escaped from the colonists, which hunt herds of goat. These goats subsist on the grasses which were engineered to grow in the cold of the mountain tops and on the saplings of conifers.
Settlements: Scattered, generally dug into the mountain sides, these settlements are both mining villages and agricultists, growing mushrooms in the empty mine tunnels, as well as conventional crops in the snow.
Population: 50 million

Midgard

Don't know what happened, but complete post including history is below.

I shall post some thing here soon.

These are all looking great so far. Thanks for all the input. Looking forward to seeing more.

Remember that this galaxy has a lot to do with Telepathy and the Mysteries of the Galaxy...

I will post more info on that as soon as I finish writing it.

Timular System (Trade Federation)
Description of Star System:
4 Planets and 8 Moons.

Timular Prime
Physical Size: 2E with 2 1M.
Climate & Topography: Consists of 80% land and 20% water, it is full of forests that stretch for miles and split only by the occasional mountain range or city. Only the very center of the largest landmass on Timular Prime has a desert that records temperatures of 140 C. The average temperature of Timular Prime is 80 C.
Flora & Fauna: There are at least 20 Documented trees on Timular Prime, with around 500 documented flower and weed species. Animals are more rare with only 15 Documented animals found locally. Though there are more, these were brought in from other worlds and systems.
Settlements: The cities are bustling trade centers, Planetary freighters of all sizes fill the transportation networks as they carry goods from Galactic Freighters to warehouses or factories. Pollution is a never-ending problem for these cities, but the abundance of available forest land keep the citizens content.
Population: Timular Prime recorded 2 Billion people in their most recent census. The majority of these citizens are workers in the Factories or Warehouses and live in apartment buildings in the center of the city. Another equal majority make up the transportation section of the economy, they generally live on the outskirts of the city. Only the wealthier owners of these factories, warehouses or trading empires live in the woods miles away from the nearest city.
Moons: The moons are inhabitable.

Timular Minor
Physical Size: 1E and 3 1M.
Climate & Topography: 60% Land, 40% Water. Temperatures are 10 C lower than Timular Prime.
Flora & Fauna: Again, most plants and animals discovered here are also noted on Timular Prime with the exception of 2 plants and 3 Animal species.
Settlements: More centralized than their larger sister, Timular Minor is more of vacation spot than a trading center, after a crew has arrived at Timular Prime and their ship berths in one of the many docking stations, a shuttle takes them and their captain to Timular Minor for some much needed R&R. Timular Minor and Timular Major boasts the only Interplanetary communications line between the two planets, in the system, so ship captains can communicate with repair facilities on Timular Prime. As a result of this Timular Minor boasts many fine hotels and beautiful beaches. A wide variety of everything, from 5 Star Hotels to lousy, seedy motels not able to get a cockroach into a room, from expensive 5 Star resturants that still cook dishes from all over the galaxy to fast food joints that gives an accurate description of fast food. If Timular Prime does not have it, Timular Minor will have it.
Population: Timular Minor boasts a meager 500 million. Mostly workers and some wealthy businessmen who found life on Timular Prime too dirty. The homes here are more wealthier and upscale than those on Timular Prime. Timular Minor sees/saw around 1 Billion visitors a year, though during the Dark Ages this number drastically fell.

Ignac
Physical Size: .6E and 1M.
Climate & Topography: Similar to Timular Minor.
Flora & Fauna: Most species found on its bigger counterparts are also found here. It has no new discoveries yet.
Settlements: None, though rumors persists that pirates or criminal elements use the numerous caves in this planet to hide. The Timular Military has yet to discover these alleged hiding places.
Population: 0 (Government Census) or more, depending on who you choose to listen to.

Timular Major
Physical Size: 5E and 1M
Climate & Topography: Gassy and inhospitable.
Flora & Fauna: Nobody knows, any expedition by unfortunate robots have failed to penetrate the gassy exterior.
Settlements: There are none, perhaps a Robot graveyard or 2.
Population: 0 Organic beings, 25 dead Robot Probes.

Homeworld: Timular Prime
Ideology: The Federation was established by a group of Corporations from the United States and England who desired a location for their trade fleets to stop and refresh or exchange loads, thus saving them time and money. Timular Prime instantly grew as millions flocked to the "Oasis" in the middle of the Galaxy. The Timular System tends to keep to themselves, welcoming far away merchants and freighters with open arms while watching others that arrive by Cruise Liners or their own personal ship with a wary eye. Only Pirates are forbidden from entering the Timular System.
Government: The System is run by a Senate based of Merchants and Traders, with a single leader, called a Doge ran as head of the system, but held very little power to enact authority. Only the Senate, 2 people from every planet in the system, hold the true authority in the government.
History: To come momentarily.

S.D 150: American and British Businessmen who owned a vast trading fleet that trades among the federation with Sol as headquarters acquired a paper from the "Agency" to explore and discover a system somewhere in the middle of their Trading Empire to serve as an Oasis of sorts, an ancient Truck Stop if you will.
S.D 165: A likely candidate was discovered in sector ****** (deleted from Agency Archives) and a fleet of Freighters arrived to offload supplies, not far behind them were the Cruise Liners ferrying the first citizens of the newly named Timular System.
S.D: 166: Timular Prime saw its first city rise. The workers just completed the first of many Docking Stations and Timular Prime welcomed its first weary visitor, the I.G.M vessel Argoy.
S.D 180: Timular Prime had grown from 50,000 to 2 million and now boasts a staggering 200 Docking Stations. Work on the resort planet of Timular Minor began.
S.D 185: The first Hotel on Timular Minor opened its doors and immediately was filled to capacity in its first 2 days of operation. The system suddenly became a favorite for weary travelers and freighter crews.
S.D 190: Timular Prime saw their Docking Stations being stretched to the limit as freighters and other large ships arrive by the dozens every day. Work began a large ring of Docking Stations around Timular Prime as the population skyrockets to a cool 500 Million.
S.D 200: Timular Prime Local Government was shocked to discover a Federation Fleet had entered their sphere. While the Timular System was firmly under Federation Control, it was understood that Timular Prime would cater only to Freighters and Passenger ships. They did not have the berths for the large warships of the Federation.
S.D 201: As the military berths neared completion it was learned that the Federation was keeping the fleet at Timular System for protection of its trade lanes and the growing Pirate problem reported by Freighter crews.
S.D 300: By this time Timular Prime had exploded to 1.5 Billion citizens, and all Docking Stations were easily meeting the demands of the freighters and Passenger Liners entering and leaving the system. Even Timular Minor was experiencing a vast growth spurt as millions pour in to build new Hotels, new restaurants and gift shops, among other things. The Timular System was becoming a vacation destination for the Galaxy, despite the Trading center of Timular Prime.
S.D 350: The Federation fleet discovered a pirate stronghold on Ignac, a smaller planet next to Timular Minor and a major fleet action took place that was visible from Timular Prime and Minor. All arrivals and exits were canceled or rerouted due to the battle which caused a major stock market crash in Timular Prime.
S.D 351: With the battle over, and the Timular Economy slowly increasing. The people of Timular System, Timularians, began to protest against the Federation presence, claiming that it was disrupting trade. The Federation declined to comment.
S.D 400: The Federation fleet did not leave, but only did it not leave, it grew. A new Carrier arrived with two Battleships that required larger Docking Stations. Riots began to spread throughout Timular Prime.
S.D 450: Federation authority began to grow, Marines were dispatched to keep the peace on Timular Prime. Instead of keeping the peace it did the opposite, it ignited a war, despite pleas by the local government and Federation agents the rebels threw back the Marines and took control over the cities and Docking Stations. They kicked the Federation Fleet out of their berths.
S.D 450-500: The action was a mistake, the Fleet furious over this began a blockade of Timular Prime and Timular Minor. Suddenly the economy tanked, Freighters and Passenger Liners bypassed the Timular System. The War was costly for the rebels and by the end of 499, they surrendered to the Federation. The Population of Timular Prime plummeted from 6 Billion to 4 Billion, nearly halved during the war.
S.D 500: As Federation Marines began to occupy the cities of Timular Prime the fleet was ordered to abandon the Timular System. Apparently the Federation was under attack. It was a bittersweet victory for both sides as before the fleet left, the 5 hypergates that entered the Timular System exploded almost simultaneously, stranding the fleet near Timular Prime, forcing them to retreat back to Timular Prime where the System fell under Federation rule.
S.D 500-600: As the Federation crumbled around them, the citizens and military personal at Timular Prime were unaware of the situation, each expecting someone would arrive to repair the hypergates. None came.
S.D: 600-612: Realizing the situation is now bleak, the people of Timular Prime rose up in rebellion of the Federation Fleet asserting their rule over them. The war was dubbed the 2nd Revolution and it was costly. The Marines now in well fortified positions were able to keep the rebels at bay, but they could only fight so long and they began to fall back. Soon Marine divisions began to get surrounded and individual soldiers began to surrender. The Planet was now again in the hands of the Rebels. The Federation Fleet commanders, notably the Admiral, afraid that the rebels may capture the fleet decided to scuttle their ships. In doing so they attempted to damage the Ring of Docking Stations around the Planet. They succeeded in both actions. The 2nd Revolution ended with all Federation authority erased and a new government appointed. A Senate and the Doge began to rule the Timular System.
S.D 612-900: As the Timular System struggled through the Dark Ages, they repaired almost the entire Docking Stations and built their own small fleet from plans salvaged from the military compounds. Though these ships were not very strong, they were able to patrol the system and keep the Pirates on their toes.
S.D 900-1035: The Federation began construction of the Timular Class Battleships, with 2 nearing completion and the discovery of new faster than light engines, the federation prepared for an influx of trade and wanted a fleet to help protect their clients.
