And I'll try to keep this one alive.

This game is on a slightly modded RFC RoC. In other words, a modmodmod. First of all, Babylonia can build Vultures, which probably increases their survivability against Persia. Second, Rome can build Cataphracts, which, if they adopt Feudalism, should make them very strong. Third, I heavily edited the dynamic civ names.

In the beginning of our history, the Pharaoh Narmer united the Egyptians, bringing us peace in a dangerous world. Narmer, however, passed away, leaving Ramesses I as our ruler. Ramesses promised to lead the Egyptians to greatness, through building monuments that would stand the test of time. The world would become awed by our culture. But first, we would need to research Pottery. We don't know why.

civ4screenshot0009.jpg

Many generations later, we discovered how to build pots, and by extension, cottages. Modern Historians are still unsure how they're connected in any way. We begin research on mysticism. A few generations later, a labor force is sent out to the coasts of the Nile to construct cottages.

Several generations after that, the military adviser of the day wants to have a large army of fast yet strong war machines. How he knew of the chariot before they were invented is a mystery. Or maybe he was talking of the Tank.

Eventually we research Masonry, which allowed us to harness the power of stone through quarries. Several generations later, we learned how to fish, which was completely useless because we had nowhere to fish. We started on the research of Animal Husbandry. Ramesses I died from a Heart Attack upon discovering what was being researched (he had the wrong idea), and was thus replaced with Pharaoh Tutankhamen. After the death of Pharaoh Ramesses I, the workers completed construction on the Stone Quarry, a group of settlers went out to build a city upon the coast of the Great Sea (later known as the Mediterranean), and Tutankhamen began to construct a large tomb for Ramesses I.

A generation later, Xou was constructed on the coast of the Mediterranean, and it was set to train a basic militia of clubmen. Later we met Sargon, Divine King of the Akkadian Empire. Egotistical B*****

We also met Pericles of the Greek League.

civ4screenshot0012ni.jpg

Eventually we completed construction of the Pyramids. They were said to be visible from over five miles away.

First view!
Also: Good opening. Hope you can finish this. A good story is a finished story (no matter how long it might take)

A Generation after the Pyramids were constructed, we met the Phoenicians, led by Queen Dido. It is reported that the diplomacy between the two went something like this.

Pharaoh Tutankhamen: Hey there, I'm the Pharaoh.
Queen Elishat: Umm, Hello.
Tutankhamen: I suppose that is peace.
Elishat: Umm, OK...?
Tutankhamen: Would you like an open borders agreement? :groucho:
Elishat: Why yes, I would. (not getting sexual connotations)
Tutankhamen: Now let us go back to my place. :groucho:
Elishat: I've got important business to do. (Dido leaves)
Tutankhamen: Curses, foiled!
Foreign Advisor: Uughhh....

civ4screenshot0015.jpg

After the Pharaoh was unsuccessful in getting Elishat to "come home" with him, Tutankhamen spent time building large statues. On in particular still yet survives to this day, the Great Sphinx, despite the attempted purging of Ancient Egyptian culture (more on that later).

civ4screenshot0016.jpg

Over the next many generations, the Egyptians built an army of War Chariots the envy of the world. The Pharaoh Tutankhamen wanted to use the army, but on who? Greece was over the Great Sea, he wanted to score with Elishat of Phoenicia, but there was still Judea to get invaded, and thus he set off!

As the army lay outside of Aarru-Hetep(then known at Yerushalayim), Tutankhamen gave a speech to his troops that would rouse them to fight.

Tutankhamen: Tonight soldiers, we fight for victory! We fight for honor! We fight to prove our gods are better! But most of all, we fight to gain this land in the name of Egypt, for they may prevent me from scoring with Elishat, they may take our lives, but tonight, WE DINE IN SET'S DOMAIN!!!!!!
Army: Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Egypt!!!!!!! For Tutankhamen!!!!!!!

civ4screenshot0017.jpg

The battle of Yerushalayim proved that the War Chariots were an effective weapon in war, destroying score of enemies by trampling, while the soldiers upon the Chariots stabbed enemy soldiers.

Good luck on your conquest (if you know what I mean).

And be wary, those Arabs will mess you up, old school. In my 3000 years game, it was the Turks who were my enemy, but I fear you're going to have a tough time, unless you can get some iron.

After the conquest of Aarru-Hetep, we discovered Aesthetics. We then went on to attempt to spread the ability to read and write around the empire, for belief that it would allow a large library to be built. Around that same era, a man named Khaemwase came around, saying that he could build a large statue in mere years.

civ4screenshot0020.jpg

Somehow, he built the entire Statue of Zeus in a matter of years instead of generations.

civ4screenshot0021.jpg

A generation or two later, a seaport without rival was constructed in Xou, it was called the Great Cothon.

civ4screenshot0022.jpg

At some point we found out that the great Babylonian Empire had been destroyed, so we sent our armies to investigate. We found that the great Babylonians had been replaced by another, greater empire: the Persians. They worshiped a religion called Zoroastrianism that the Phoenicians also worshiped.

civ4screenshot0023.jpg

On an unrelated note, Pharaoh Tutankhamen died from unknown causes, perhaps because of living for at least a millennium, perhaps an assassin killed him, perhaps a scorpion or a snake got him. No matter the cause, a new Pharaoh was brought into power, the Pharaoh Hatshepsut. She saw Tutankhamen's desire for empire-wide literacy completed, and desired a way of knowing how much stuff they had other than "more than last time." Also, we met the Roman Empire, Greece wanted us to fight Persia (no, they have Immortals) and we traded Aesthetics to Rome for Bronze Working. We also constructed the Temple of Artemis.

civ4screenshot0024.jpg

We then began construction on a large Library in the city of Niwt-rst. Later, in Xou, the Parthenon was constructed.

civ4screenshot0025.jpg

At some point, monotheistic religions centering around the god Aten become a big deal. However, they weren't very popular. At the same time, The Egyptian Old Kingdom fell and gave way to the Republic of Egypt, with Hatshepsut becoming Prime Minister. After the transition to to Democracy, Khaemwase II, armed with his dad's magic, built the Hanging Gardens. And then the Great Library was built.

civ4screenshot0027.jpg

For some reason, Prime Minister Hatshepsut moved all of our soldiers to Suez, leaving Aarru-Hetep defenseless, Hatshepsut says it's a plan, but could she have lost her marbles? She also gave Aarru-Hetep to Phoenicia.

The first thing that happened was that African invaders were coming! :run: Oh wait, we upgrade our Warriors to Axemen, and send Spearman to repel the invaders.

Also, we get another Great Engineer, Zoser, who then builds the Great Lighthouse in Xou.

civ4screenshot00290.jpg

We also lost 1 Spearman repelling the Impis. We later discover Horseback Riding and start on Construction to get War Elephants. We were then attacked by Barbarian Camel Archers! And then Barb Horse Archers and Impis! We also build the Ishtar Gate.

civ4screenshot0030.jpg

Also, Camel Archers and Horse Archers :run: We're gonna need more Spearmen.

We hold the Olympics in Xou for some reason, and THOSE STUPID IMPIS PILLAGED ONE OF MY TOWNS!

We discover Construction and start building War Elephants to fight against those pesky African invaders. And the Arabs also. Meanwhile we get yet another Great Engineer. We whip Barrackses in both cities and a stable in Niwt-rst. And then Great Engineer rush the Colosseum. And now I'm building 9xp War Elephants.

civ4screenshot0031.jpg

Several Impis and Horse Archers killed later, we find that the Vikings have spawned. The Prime Minister Hatshepsut dies, leaving the office empty. Atem rises to power and turns Egypt back into the Pharaohic Dynasty of old. And the Arabians have spawned.

civ4screenshot00320.jpg

IMPIS! All Impis must die. They're the most annoying unit in the game. Anyways, it seems you have quite the wonder-spam moving along there. As seems to be a pattern with RFC stories, not much happens in the first 5000 years of history. I have a feeling the great bulk of this story will be focused on the final dozen centuries of the game.

Phoenicia doesn't have any units beside archers in Aarru-Hetep, do they? Because Arabia can be annoying if a lot of unit types flip to them.

Awesome story, by the way. If it's anything like 3000 Years of Rome, then I'll definitely follow it.

I read it only recently, so it's still (somewhat) fresh in my mind.

After the rise of the Arabians, the Pharaoh, Atem, sends an army of War Elephants and War Chariots to go and take the city of Al-Quds, known also as Aarru-Hetep. It was guarded by two archers. And then the Archers became Longbows. In Niwt-rst, a Prophet by the name of Petiese is born, and he researches Theology for me. I trade Theology to Caesar for Iron Working and to Cyrus for Calendar. It's 680AD by the Persian Calendar.

War Chariots fighting Arabic Swordsmen

The War Elephants and War Chariots did well despite the technological disparity between Egypt and Arabia, so well that one of the Commanders of the group, Narmer IV, became considered a Great General by the Populace.

civ4screenshot0034.jpg

Narmer led the army through the lands of the Arabs, scaring most of them into not attacking. Eventually, Pharoah Atem and Caliph Abu Bakr met together and settled to end the war. During the war, the Phoenicians became a Satrapy of the Persian Empire. Also during the war, the artist Khafre came to fame in Xou for his dramas, the first if their kind in much of the known world.

civ4screenshot0035.jpg

African Natives have shown compassion for wounded men, and thus opened up the way for peace.

civ4screenshot0037u.jpg

For a while, things went well. Egypt began to prosper, but then the Persians declared war on us! :run:

civ4screenshot0037.jpg

So we sent Narmer IV's force to take Al-Quds. Again. And this time, it's going to stay Egyptian! And we send the War Elephants to kill their Archers and then War Chariots to kill the Catapult and the Persian scouts. In 950AD, Phoenicia collapses. Actually, we give Al-Quds to Arabia because the Phoenician Barbs have Pikemen. And my army is valuable.

State of the Empire in 1030AD:

civ4screenshot0040.jpg

Uh oh, instability. Collapse wouldn't be that bad, though. You only have one other city.
