Cavalry/Lancer upgrade path leading to upgraded units with weird penalties

The issue is that most unit promotions or penalties are carried over with upgrade, exempt those explicitly forbidden (and there are no many of those).

So Tank promoted from Cavalry:
-will be more vulnerable from other horsemen

While Lancer promoted to Anti-Tank (or was it helicopter?)
-will have penalty on defense
-will have no defensive bonuses for terrain

This also leads to getting some bonuses, like above mentioned Lancer retaining Blitz (which neither anti-tank for helicopter have).

.

Issues like this existed before patch too, but were much more minor.

For example, artillery upgraded to rocket artillery kept "must set up" promotion (fixed in this patch).

Or chariot archers upgraded to cavalry units still lost the turn when moving to rough terrain (not fixed with patch).

From beneficial ones, most notable one is when pikemen upgraded to riflemen kept +100% bonus vs mounted units.

P.S.
Just to add, new -33%/-25% city penalties are one of the few promotions "lost with upgrade", so lancers going to anti-tank won't suffer from it. Not will chariot archers start suddenly to have double city attack penalty, when upgraded to knights.

12/22 HOTFIX update:
Issue is partially fixed.

The game developers must be polish....
Still, cavalry are going to get obliterated by a tank, that has twice their base strength.

Its weird that they fixed some of these, but not others.

I wish that all promotions that a new unit was ineligible to get were removed when you upgraded (exlcluding the deliberate UU-only promotions like immortals or janissiaries).

For this to be truly funny, it should written as:

The game developers must be [insert your favorite ethnic slur here]....

No; the game developers must be TXT_ETHNIC_SLUR

With new hotfix, this issue is partially fixed.

So Tank promoted from Cavalry:
-will be more vulnerable from other horsemen

Fixed

While Lancer promoted to Anti-Tank (or was it helicopter?)
-will have penalty on defense

Not fixed! With new hotfix lancers upgraded to anti-tank, or later helicopter, will still have penalty when defensing from attack.

While Lancer promoted to Anti-Tank:
-will have no defensive bonuses for terrain

Fixed. At least terrain bonuses will apply now.

Or chariot archers upgraded to cavalry units still lost the turn when moving to rough terrain (not fixed with patch).

Fixed in hotfix.
