Which civilization is the best. is it civ 1, civ 3 or civ 4 or anyother civilization game there is

The best civilization in my opinion is civ 4 with bts expansion pack

this should probably be moved to the general forum

Seeing as your posting this in the 4 forums expect a shut out in favor of 4 in the votes.

Anyway ordered from best to worst (assuming all expansions are used and no mods) I'd say it is 4, 3, 2, 1, 5.

Dam it! I was expecting "civilisations", as in which nation is the best (e.g. Germans, Arabs, Aztecs, etc.)! Pretty silly poll to ask in a Civ 4 forum too.

If you can't figure out which one is going to be the worst... then you must be really new.

4,5,2,3,1 is my list.

Not a topic for Strategy&Tips. Order is 4,2,1,3,5.

Took the Order out of my mouth.
I will add my own reasoning to it though.

4 = Excellent (Huge amount of variety)
2 = Good (I could easily create units)
1 = Average (The original. Not bad, just above the worst ones made)
3 = Poor (a game designed against what the players want to enjoy about it? Lame.)
5 = So unappealing, it Stayed in the Store.

meh i got bored and played 3 a bit last month, and honestly i dont see how 3 is any better than 5. havent played 2 and 1 in forever so wont comment on those.

I never played I, II, or III. IV is still bad ass after playing it for five years, and V licks dog balls. Also, I second this thread being removed from the strategy and tips forum.

Whiny b******, think of this as an opportunity for discussion of Civ 4 and other series entries.

I also thought this was about ingame civs but was pleasantly surprised to find that foolish question went unasked.

Civ 4 is the most fun for me, though I've only played that and Civ I. Still I think the first Civ was an awesome game and I'm pleased to see a few others agree.

Voted for II, because I played it for almost 10 years on my Playstation, and it gave me many hours of enjoyment. I can't help it; I'm sentimental. :p

And, yeah, this thread should be moved to General.

4 > 1 = 2 > 3 = 5.

Pe = Pr + u(Pd) +x
where Pe is the effective price as far as the decision to buy a new game is concerned, Pr is the retail price, Pd is the expected price of all DLC within 1 year, u is an uncertainty multiplier and x is the monetary equivalent of the exasperation at having to deal with this business model. For me, u>1.2, x>$15.
A title has to be utterly fantastic to justify Pe > $60

This is the best game purchaser justifier ever. And I thought I was anally analytical:lol:

.... V licks dog balls.

Not even my Labradors would consent to allowing Civ V to lick thier balls

Thanks I guess... I firmly believe that everything that's worth doing is worth analysing to death :)

You are my hero:D

why would u > 1.2? you feel paying for dlc is actually worth more money than paying for it upfront?

I took the 1.2 multiplier to imply that Iranon thinks its a steamy load of B.S. to have to pay for extra DLC, particularly just to make the game function properly.
