Coming on march, 25th, for 49.99€, Link to amazon.de.
Edit:
Oops, sorry, forgot it + didn't see it really myself.
The Goty version comes with the map pack, Babylon, Inca, Spain, Polynesia + the deluxe soundtrack from the special version.

No infos yet on amazon.com or .co.uk or any other site.

-----------------------
They should maybe fix all the stuff first and add the missing parts before they call it "Game of the year".

I wonder if this brings anything new to the game, other than bells and whistles and already purchased DLCs? I tried looking for info and can't find any. And I can't read German at the link. LOL

all for 49.99 huh?

*adds up total spent on civ v and dlc so far*

Wow, so thats it?
End of line?

End of series (as we know it) probably too.

I was waiting for much more, and this is disappointment really.
Civ5 will never be like BtS. Damn.
:(

This means that there won't be new DLC:s anymore right? Not at least in a long time. Otherwise this would be just huge cash-in...

Yeah!

That means, the DLC won't be part of an addon (if there will be one).

Doesn't have to mean anything imho. Normally GOTYs are sold with all released addons, so it might be that there's still a "compilation addon" coming :dunno:.

Its not to soon for a GOTY version?

Game of the half year sounds dull, so there's no other option :D.

Summarize the amount of money you've spend on Civ4 (if you have). Now you can get it for 10€. -> not really a difference.

Can't say I didn't see this coming.

Post 61 is even more on point. Civ V getting GOTY from anyone (but most especially from their direct partner Gamespy) may have been a joke, but it matters for exactly this reason. Without their "joke" GOTY award, they couldn't market this.

Civ5 getting any kind of "Game of the Year" award is highly fradulent, but we already covered that in builer680's thread, and there's no point in rehashing that discussion here. I'm more surprised that Firaxis/2K are releasing a compilation edition less than 6 months after release. That's not a whole lot of time... Didn't past Civ games usually wait more than a year (and patch themselves into vastly better shape) before putting out this compilation edition?

It looks like yet another trick to try and maximize revenue streams to me, re-release the same product with incremental updates every few months. I'm not a big fan.

My hope is that this will be the end of the DLC nonsense for Civ, and this version is just to cap it off so that we're all on the same page again.

Wow I'm just pissed off, this is far too soon to do this, lucky I haven't bought a single DLC yet, and now I wont be for sure, or any other stuff that company spits out anymore. Whats eta on gal civ 3?....

It's a cash grab that changes nothing. We already knew they had an uber-greedy publisher that doesn't give a damn about players, and this is more confirmation of that. It doesn't say anything about whether there'll be more patches or more DLC or what-not.

Ah... I miss the times when the Game of the Year editions were reserved for games who were, in fact, Game of the Year.

Now it's another name for "trying to make more cash edition".

Don't hold your breath.
