Welcome kids, to Telluride, Colorado, USA, population 2,303. It's a quiet, isolated town, with visitors coming in for the beautiful mountains and skiing.
However, not all is right in Telluride.
A few nights after you arrived, rumors about strange activities in the mountains were spreading. Sheriff Mathew Jackson sent deputies to patrol the surrounding areas However, no signs of odd activities were found. Appeased, the people pressed no further.
However, on June 4th, 7:06 AM, the living dead had arisen. And they began their attack.
-----------
Now it seems you're in a sticky spot, no? The power and WiFi seems to be gone, and you are isolated from the world. Well here you are, in Telluride, so obviously you should try to survive. There is a supply shipment coming in two to three weeks, and they will obviously help you from your plight. You survive until then? Congratulations! You win!
The sheriff has less than five men, so no relying on them to protect you most likely, at least in the beginning stages. However, fire arms are aplenty in the town in houses and at the Courthouse and Post Office. The medical center has a cachet of food and medical supplies. Houses in Telluride will have various American foods, bottled water, and possibly, ammo and weapons; if not guns, at the very least baseball bats, golf clubs, and crowbars.
This is a combination of story and stat neses. Orders will come in the form of stories with what's going on with your character, what he's doing, how he's preparing. Then, when updates come, you shall see how he did. Sounds fun right?

Notes:
Food and Water: Food and water are going to keep you alive. As a general rule, one gallon of water will keep you alive for 2, maybe three days, while a unit of any type of food can usually last you one day. Most houses will have canned food and bottled water or water gallons. Some may even have gardens with fresh food. The grocery store will obviously have quite a bit of food at the beginning, but it will soon run short of fresh food. As the days go on, you will need more food and water or you will perish. It could be possible to scavenge gardens if you were able to maintain them. Last but not least, it wouldn't be the first time that people turned to each other for "creative solutions" for hunger
Weapons: Weapons can and will easily be found. Though it wouldn't be fair to say every house in Telluride has a gun, it wouldn't be far from the truth either. Gun care will not be an issue in the beginning, but weapons will deteriorate, and it may be best to have a back up firearm, or another weapon such as a baseball bat. Ammo will be a concern. If you are careful with it, it will last quite a while, if not, then you will need to scavenge for ammo more often.
Travel: Travel will be an important part in this nes, with getting from one place to another in hopes of finding supplies. With zombies, chaos , and the breakdown of order though, Telluride is no longer the safe place it once was. As a general rule, a player can travel three to four blocks safely with supplies, and can travel six to seven blocks safely with just a weapon (by safely I mean you won't be incredibly tired traveling this amount with zombies and other disturbances in the street. You can travel more, but it may put your survival in jeopardy.
