After a long break, and some pleas, I finally decided to do another story, after The History of the Arab World, about the Egyptian Empire. This will most likely be my last civ4 story, so that's I felt it is fitting to play as Egypt. I am playing RFCMarathon, which is exactly the same as regular RFC, on normal speed and monarch. (RFCM has some speed fixes, so that's why I use it)

My goal is simply to win a Domination Victory. As far as I know Egyptian Domination has not been reported in civ fanatics before, so I believe it will be quite a challenge.

My rulers will all be Prahaohs, but since I probably need to play until late 20th century to (possibly) win, they'll reign significantly longer than in real life.

Yeah, it will be pretty hard, but let's see how it goes. Thanks Civ'ed!

If only photobucket would complete the maintenance and I could get the story going...

why not use imgur? also hooray for another of your stories :goodjob:

Subscribed.
This looks like a very interesting variant. I myself have attempted some major Egyptian conquests but I have always found this civ to be more of a short term-orientated. It excells in ancient and classical age but I always seem to be lost later on. Stability hurts too! Anyway, I'm looking forward to your approach and I'm sure you'll do well. Good luck!

Btw. why do you think that this might be your last story?

I'll have postpone the first update to tomorrow, since photobucket doesn't seem get things going today and I am too lazy to open another account..

But I am really glad to see that so many people are interested!:D

@Ororo: There was such long time between this and the last one, and it somehow feels like it. However, 'will most likely' is maybe too harsh, 'might' is better.

May the world be united under the rule of the pharoah.

OMG!!! I can't wait for this!

Should be a good game.

After a long campaign Menes had finally managed to unite the Lower and Upper Egypt and thus he was the first man to inherit the throne of Horus. Menes founded his capital in between Lower and Upper Egypt and named it Niwt-Rist. He also compiled an expedition and ordered them to scout the lands south of Nubia. These brave men were later called the Nubian Warriors.

It took many years before couple of the Nubian Warriors reported back to Niwt-Rist. They had encountered another tribe after a year of travelling. These men were civilized and they agreed to share some knowledge about Pottery with the powerful Nubian Warriors.

Meanwhile Menes ordered the founding of another military unit the Theban Guard. These men were sent to scout the lands west from Kush. Strangely after delivering a sketchy map of the land, they were never heard from again. Much later a scouting party found some evidence that these men had been eaten by wild beasts. In order to keep the capital protecked Menes formed the Divine Guard, stationed in Niwt-Rist.

However, much further down south, after slaying numerous different beasts, the famous Nubian Warriors had encountered another tribe, who were eager to share their knowledge. Sadly after sending these mysterious markings back to Niwt-Rist, they were never heard from again, nevertheless they lived on in Egyptian poems and tales. To honor these brave men and to dedicate them to the Sun, Menes began the construction of a great monument called Stonehenge.

Finally we are underway! Thanks for all the comments, I do appreciate and hopefully this will be a story worthy of your expectations!:)

I'll try to update again tomorrow.

even attempting domination with egypt is worthy of my expectations
to get domination victory with any civ seems quite the challenge to me.

Very much looking forward to this Jusos. If this is as good as any of your other ones were this will be a great story :D

Good job so far.

Oh yes, quite the challenge

Although Egypt does have a lot of room to expand to the south. It's actually really easy to kill the Ethiopians when they spawn if you have enough War Chariots

I am planning to stay small initially and tech quickly to gain the tech lead, so that means that Ethiopia must be left alone.

At least a small update is coming later today.
