Why hello there!
For my 1000 post i have decided to start another story, i don’t have time really to do it so don’t be surprised if updates take a little while. The idea is I will take you through the complete story of my game including downloading it and such. without further ado let us begin.

On the 22 of march hoplitejoe joined CFC after lurking for a while (and then lurked a bit more).

Then one fateful day exactly 1 year later (!) I posted this in relation to why i don't like the RoM mod.

I am however willing to let bygones be bygones and will be playing this story on a Rom based mod.
with this I need your help, What RoM modmod (or none) should i use?

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Extract rar file to your Beyond the Sword "Mods" folder within the Beyond the Sword game directory. For example, C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\MODS. It should create a folder called "Caveman2Cosmos" that will include all of the modpack files. In game, click on "Advanced" and then "Load a Mod" to play.

If you want this mod to load automatically every time you play Civ4 Beyond the Sword then edit the "CivilizationIV.ini" file in your "\My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword" directory. Search for "Mod = 0" and change it to "Mod = Mods\Caveman2Cosmos".


KNOWN ISSUES

NWA/Prehistoric is huge mod as it uses all the graphics from Civ 4, Warlords, Beyond the Sword and it also adds tons of new units/buildings. Because of this the game requires lot more memory than regular BtS does and you should have at least 1.0 MB graphics card and 3GBs of RAM when playing this mod. In Windows XP this might not be enough for late game and the common suggestion is to enable more memory for Windows by switching on 3GB option.

With 64bit OS like Vista or Windows 7 there are less memory problems.

As with most large modpacks for Civ4, there is a possibility of receiving a "Memory Allocation Failure" or MAF on Large & Huge maps, especially when playing on Terra or similar maps with little or no water.

This is, and has been, an ongoing problem with Civ4. It most often happens with large modpacks when the game is saved but some people have had it happen with unmodded, plain Civ4. More info can be found on this by searching for "Memory Allocation Failure" in the Civ4-Tech Support forum. A few of these threads are listed below as well as one claiming a fix.

MISC NOTES/DISCLAIMER
This is not necessarily an exact recreation of recorded history right down to the last painstaking detail, as evidenced by some of the civs and leaders. I have however tried my best to portray each of the new real world civs and leaders as accurately as possible but I am limited by the 3D models available.

Please note that one of my early goals with my modpack is to include as many new civs as possible. I am happy with the mix of civs and leaders in this starting version and feel that I have now achieved my goal to to get it out there for everyone to try and get FEEDBACK as much as possible, and try to get as many Civs into the game as possible.
