The Norsemen - A Story of the Vikings
"If you think of your destination, you shall be showered with gold. If you think of that gold, you shall be put to death by your own country, and sometimes the men working for you. Remember the destination." ~Mjorkin
Chapter 1: The Thing
Norsemen have been traveling around, wandering, not sure where to go but the fjords they are already in. A portion of these people called themselves 'Norwegians' and took it upon themselves to build a palace for the fist king, King Svein. Around this palace was the port city of Nidaros. A second group of people called 'Swedes' fled the wrath of King Svein and built a palace for their king, King Erik. Around this palace was the port city of Stockholm. The third group of Norseman, called 'Danes', fled to a new land, off the peninsula the Norwegians and Swedes are on. This new land, called Denmark, was out of the reach of King Svein. The Danes settled the city of Kjøbenhaven without a king. After 80 years, King Svein and King Erik had died. Neither kings had a proper heir to the throne. The Swedes met with the Danes for an important meeting. This meeting was called 'The Thing'. Norwegians joined The Thing after a new religion, called 'Christianity' spread into Norway. Christianity spread into Denmark ten years later. Soon after, another group of Swedes fled Norway to found the city of Arjplog (spelling?) to escape the Christians spreading trouble for the pagans. Now that the three states united, the 'Viking Civilization' had begun!
