Somewhere in the Civ IV forums, someone suggested a game where they start off as normal, then people tell them exactly what to do. So I have made a few changes to this, and here are the rules:

1: I have not chosen my Civ or map, however I will play on Warlord difficulty.
2: If someone says something along the lines of: 'Research the wheel' then someone else says something that contradicts with that, I will go with the first person.
3: When you post, could you specify if you don't mind your order getting overwritten, for example: Name *unit* Bob, then another person says: Name Bob to Jona. (This is if you don't mind, and the second order will work)
4: I will not disband units or cities.
5: Apart from that, order me to do anything.

So... I will update every so often. First person to tell me about the map and Civs?

BaneFire

I hope there's some fun :nuke:ing

Ok, I will pick Persia. Will update status in a minute.

Oh no. Civ 3 won't load. I should've checked before I posted. :( I was so looking forward to playing it after a few weeks of not playing it...

I'll try it on conquests, instead of complete edition

Ah, I remeber, I moved the civ 3 file to somewhere more manageable, but it didn't work

Ok, sorry had to have dinner.

1 Settler, 1 Worker
5 grassland surrounding them, 1 jungle, 2 hills. What will I do?
(Remember, no disbanding!)

I think it's called an anarchy game, and it belongs in the stories forum.

"Pick random civ" means the game picks a civ for you...
So.
Start again on a huge 70% map with a random map. :D

Then move your setler 3 squares north east and establish your first city and post a screen shot.

Name your worker "Bob from Account Temps"

Yeah, with mine. :) Good to finally see a new one starting.

Name your capital Smilin' Bob.

The next time you meet a rival civ, regardless who it is, make their head look good on the end of your pole :) If you met everyone attack the closest neighbor

Play 5CC (5 city challenge, you may never have more than 5 cities at the end of your turn)

It looks like this is dead. BaneFire hasn't been on since shortly after the OP (July 10, 2011). If there are no solid objections, I thought I would get this moving. My plan is to honor all of BaneFire's settings so that when/if he returns he can jump back in. Below is a list of what has been ordered so far, with a few modifications from me. If anyone wants an order changed from an action to static, please let me know and I will move it.

The only current order I am concerned about is the 5CC order. On a huge map. :crazyeye: That should be interesting! But its only at warlord. Not sure if this will make the game really short or really long!

I'll wait 24 hours for any objections (Banefire you out there?) or modifications to standing orders. I also canceled my order - no sense bossing myself around. If all is well, I will kick it off tomorrow after work.

Settings:

Warlord (BaneFire OP)
Huge Map (Elephantium)
70% (Elephantium)
Continents (Elephantium)
Climate: Normal (CommandoBob)
Temp: Temperate (CommandoBob)
Age: 4 Billion
Agression: Normal (CommandoBob)
Civ: Random (Theov)
Barb: Radom (CommandoBob)
# of AI Civs: 15 – Random

Rules:

1. If rules are in conflict, the first order takes precedence. (OP)
2. Specifically note if an order should not be overridden. (I’ll move it to the Static Orders lists) (OP)
3. You may not command me to disband units or cities. (OP)
4. I will not follow orders that have the singular purpose of ending the game prematurely. (Raliuven)
5. I will play the game in 10 turn increments or until I have accomplished all outstanding actions, whichever comes first. (Raliuven)
6. Orders are posted in bold print. (Raliuven)
7. No successive posts by the same person unless 48 hours have passed with no other posts. (CommandoBob)

Static Orders (cannot be overridden):

Play 5CC (5 city challenge) (pi4t) I took this to be static.

Actions (things to get done):

Move settler 3 squares NE and establish first city. (bigFRANK)
Post a screen shot. (bigFRANK)
Name worker “Bob from Account Temps” (Raliuven)
Name capital “Smilin’ Bob” (CommandoBob)
Next time you meet a rival civ DOW. (FerrousWheel)
Name your second city “Caseyboy97’s Asylum” (Caseyboy97)

I also canceled my order - no sense bossing myself around.

Actions (things to get done):
Name worker “Bob from Account Temps” (Raliuven)
Wait a minute! If you hadn't wanted the worker to be named 'Bob from Account Temps' I wouldn't have asked for the capital to be named 'Smilin' Bob'!. No sense in letting good commericals go to waste. :D

In another Anarchy game, a person could not post two orders in succession. I think that should be included in the rules also. If it is doesn't get too crazy, allow someone to post two orders in succession but only after 24/48/72 hours have elapsed and no one has posted another order after them. If someone has posted another order, the time lapse does not apply. (This is something to consider.)

For game setup, use the mid setting for the current ??? settings and set the Barbarians to random.

Excellent point - Rule adopted. No successive posts unless 48 hours have passed with no other posts.

Another good point. I suppose someone could always supercede my order. :D

Set the Research goal to Writing.

Now there is an order I like! I guess if I don't start with pottery I'll just have to learn it. All in the quest for writing, after all!
