This scenario for CIV5 without any mods and DLCs. This is huge size map with three found cities for every civilization. Colonization times were dark and brutal .. make it happen again . This is very fast turning and good balanced map for pleasant play even on slow computers.

Installation details -
1- download file and unzip ( 1470AD-Colonozation.Civ5Map ) to (user)/my documents/my games/civ5/maps folder
2- launch you civ5 - go to mods ( accept )- single player - set up game - click on earth and find "1470AD Colonization" map - check in "Load Scenario"
3- take any of Civilizations and "Start Scenario"

Special thanks to Revoran for the great Atlantic map!

I advise to use special speed turn mod to play this scenario.

Hello Max, nice one as usual.
Just a remark : for French cities, Lyon should be replaced by Bordeaux (based on your printscreen, i did not launch the game yet).

Thanks for the map anyway.

I got 15 turns in and have not seen any barbs. Surely they should be there and probably set to raging. Everyone seems to be friendly, no contesting for settlement locations and no attacks from the native civs. Does any conflict occur later?

You must have Inca and Spain DLC...

I know you don't want to buy these DLCs, but the fact is a 1470 AD scenario without Spain and Inca is like Coca Cola Light : not really Coca Cola ;)

Nice one, but you should make some significant changes in Europe.

In 1470 there was no such thing as a united Italy, you should divide it in many city-states (Venice, Florence, Genoa) just like it was back then, with Rome acting as the Holy See/Papal State and the South (Kingdom of Naples) ruled by Spain.

But anyway, really good job. ;)

It would be nice if you actually credited the original map creator (me) in your post.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and say you just made a mistake - but even then it's just common courtesy man.

Some things you could change with the scenario:
1. In 1470, Spain owned the southern bit of Italy, the city of Rome was an independent city state (probably best represented by having just Rome on it's own), and the rest of Italy was divided up between little city states like Venice, Florence, Genoa, Milan, etc.
2. In 1470, Germany was essentially a hegemony of small states that (sort-of) made up the Holy Roman Empire. It later fractured completely into many little kingdoms during the 1500's-1600's and it gets complicated - but it's probably most accurate to call Germany the Holy Roman Empire.
3. In 1470 (and for a while afterwards) both Scotland and Ireland were independent of English rule. Ireland was actually a very-loosely knit collection of clans etc but it's probably best to stick Dublin as owner of Ireland with outdated and few units.
4. Come on dude, you need Spain and Inca - it's like $8 just skip lunch one day and buy them.
5. The Arab cities could probably stand to be renamed, and it would be most accurate for the time period we're talking about to have the Ottomans there rather than Arabs.
6. The Songhai are in the wrong place, if you look them up on Wikipedia you'll see where there empire was.
7. There's no rivers dude, WTH? I mean, sure when I created the map I didn't put any rivers in, but you could have added them.

done and thx!

Good scenarios are not historically accurate but good balanced. Players must have enough for a good start and stimulus for conquer. Making AI Spain all over the map is not priority for this scenario.
P.S. I'm history maniac and I hate when people are not historically accurate. I do understand what u mean by saying me this :))

I'm planning to make Cww2-ColdWar scenario but I need another Atlantic map, will you be able to help me? I believe there is no one who can make good Atlantic map if not you :))) http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=426468

4. Come on dude, you need Spain and Inca - it's like $8 just skip lunch one day and buy them.

You can feel free to make all the changes you want and I upload it here together with my scenario so players can download both versions.

7. There's no rivers dude, WTH? I mean, sure when I created the map I didn't put any rivers in, but you could have added them.

I'm not the one who makes the river :) You can add it to my scenario and I upload it as new version.
