Inspired by the Gameroom statistics thread at the .Org.

So, I was reading that thread, and it looked cool. I thought maybe we should have a similar thread to compile statistics of all the things we've done, at least post-Forum Games Purge. And it will probably be easier to maintain now that we have our own forum, especially if it gets stickied.

Because I'm lazy, and because Romanic's thread on the org doesn't, I'm not going to bother creating seperate statistics for Mafia and NOTW, or for different sizes of games.

The database is in the next post.

About this Thread:

This thread is a statistics thread for Mafia and NOTW. It attempts to document things like wins and losses, games survived, and splits between town, mafia, and whatever else there is, for no other reasons than because it's cool and I feel like it and we want to know these things for some reason.

Like I said in the OP, I got the idea from a similar thread on the .org.

Don't take either too seriously. It's just a game after all. Also, the one on the .org is very, very out of date, and this one is missing a couple of years of games thanks to the Forum Games Purge, so the statistics contained wherein may not be fully accurate. Even if they were, you can't judge a player based solely on these. Some people are good and never win or survive, while some lucky people cruise to a million easy victories.

So, good luck in your games, and remember, have fun with those and with these stats.

Q. Why do you take so long to update?

A. Because I'm busy sometimes. Hey, I should be able to update it faster now that I'm no longer a year out of date.

Q. Why do you need so many posts?

A. Because CFC has a 30,000 character limit. If I put all of this into one post, it would total well over 100,000. Obviously, I need to split it up a bit.

Q. There's a mistake somewhere.

A. Well, that's not a question, but if you see me making a mistake, please tell me about it so I can fix it.

Q. Why did you define something in this way?

A. Because I couldn't find a better way of doing it.

Q. Why all the non-counting games?

A. Either it was discussed in the thread and we decided that they had impossible stats or they were too different from normal mafia games to count or something like that, or I can't figure out what some of the players in it were.

Q. Why did you do this Infrequently asked questions section if you knew nobody would care?

A. Umm... hey! Look! A distraction!

Copypasta is so much easier.

The list has been updated for all games that finished between June and December of 2008. The individual player statistics, best wins/percents/streaks/etc and that sort of thing will be added after I've gotten all of the games up to the present on the list. Preferably with some of the unclear ones clarified (they're usually unclear because the OP wasn't updated for a while before the end of the game, and then the game-ending post didn't make it clear either, but some are unclear for other reasons)

I wonder if anyone remember mafia games before there were clues? I know when I first started to look at the forum games section, I saw many games in the early days where there were no clue at all. Then we added clues to the games and most of the games clue games, until we introduced role games. The rest is history.
