18 Duel Game

This is my second story on here. I started a game with 18 civs on a duel map.




I set it on Unrestricted leaders so that I could be Stalin of Sumeria. I set the leaders so that there were no aggressive leaders, but I left the civs to chance. I also tried to make it so that no two leaders of the same civ were there, but I messed up, so there's Churchill and Elizabeth, but no big deal.

I also set it to Marathon and Settler, from suggestions on a slightly off topic moment on an unrestricted leaders thread.
Pangaea, Duel, Choose Religions, Unrestricted Leaders, No City Razing (for the early- captured cities) and Domination turned off.

My start Spot, seems to be a pinch point for later. As usual for overload games, you start with someone already known.


I met Charlemagne after building Uruk.


Then Gilgamesh of the epic music.


I quickly take Aksum.


Thus meeting Russia, and also Viking.




Then Korea


Then Khmer


I go for Cahokia


And meet Mongolia


So this is the state of Sumeria..


I met Elizabeth and Huayna Capac




Coincidentally, I attack Gilgamesh of Inca


I meet Hatshepsut of the Netherlands..


De Gaulle of Maya..


And Brennus of...

Celtia. Well, it's bound to happen.

I discover Bronze Working, and start trying to culture enough to get that copper.




Can you see the Copper? Anyway..

I attack Mongolia in the Mean time..


But they have a Warrior in Kakourum


So it'll take a while.

I meet Isabella of HRE in the mean time


Much better..


I blitz Mali next.


I meet Japanese Churchill


And Zulu Pacal

OK, I almost forgot, I took Bibracte and converted to Judaism..




So now I'm this big.


I'm the most advanced... Obviously.


I finished Stonehenge.


And get that Copper


I get OB from Capac..


I finish the Great Wall (really using IND here)


MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Copper!


I take Amsterdam




Sumeria!


I also get Ulundi

Vulture vs. Warrior is SO fun.



I finish the Temple of Artemis


I attack HRE


Just a Warrior.
Easy.


So this is Sumeria (Again)


I have 8 Rivals left if I go for conquest, you can see Domination is gone.


OB with Korea.


After that, I stopped for the day.

I approve, and I'm eagerly waiting for the last update.
The last? Yes, I don't expect you will have a third update The game will be finished by then. Unless you go peacemongering like Gandhi.
Why don't you tech Priesthood? The Sumerians have cheap and early courthouses.

I did as I took Aachen. If you look closely you can see that Aachen is building one, and I think Cuzco builds one as well. My economy tanked, and Zigs saved me.
EDIT: You can barely see Cuzco building one behind the diplo with Hannibal.
EDIT EDIT: I'll probably stop until I get Modern or something, just to see what happens.

By the way, what level (ex. Deity, Settler, Monarch, Immortal, etc.)?

Settler (So I can completely whup the AIs) I normallyplay on Noble, though, so don't lower your opinion of me.

I turned off Domination with that intention. Last time I tried that (the 18civs/ duel/ Marathon/ settler diff I won Domination in the 2000 BCs

no, I'll stall for the story. I think I'll kill everyone with Modern Armors when they all have longbows!

I have no Idea. However, once I get around to putting RoM: AND (or vanilla RoM)I'll do a story on 40 (or whatever the max is for that mod) on duel. Mwahahahaha!

I love having 18 civs on a duel map, and do it often. Good idea as Sumeria. I usually do Monty.

I've done that once as Shaka on Noble. I was quite slow, I finished only in 1850 AD, but at least I didn't get owned by barbs
(Not that that is possible on this map)
