Yes, yes, yes. This is probably the most overused topic in the forums! But I like to know what you guys think, and I am not posting this for worthless things like views, replies, or to have a hot thread. What is your favorite Civilization?

I am planning to do it like this: the poll shall close in a week, and when it does, the top ten favorite shall go into another poll that shall then close in a week (and so on).

Please vote! :)

Oh yes: and please don't complain about not having all of the DLC Civs, but not everyone has them (me, for instance)

Egypt and the legalism trick...and much more.

Rome is usually pretty fun. Flavour of the week for me, at least. The starting terrain is usually nice, at least, and I kinda like building.

Greece for me.

not the strongest of the civilizations by far, but I just love those Hoplites !

in my opinion the Greece civ is the most "balanced" of all the civilizations, not to weak, not to strong.

but I might be proven wrong :D

After hard consideration I voted for Rome. Legions and Ballistas rule and the heavy production emphasized UA suits for me. Though Persia and France are also long time favorites of mine.

Germany and for some odd reason I just love to start a world war II when I got my panzers. Hmm and a World War I to get Oil if didn't get enough in my lebensraum.

I could have voted America for just about the same reason (except B-17 instead of Panzers) but I have played Germany more often.

China. The UB is boring but strong, an effective 3gpt per city early game is useful no matter how you're playing. The main power is probably the Super Great Generals along with Chu-Ko-Nu rushes though. A flat 15% bonus to all your units for the entire game is one of the strongest traits imo and would be enough on its own, also more great generals never hurt anyone. Chu-Ko-Nu rushes might lose their effectiveness on higher difficulty levels but they're resource independent and can be effective city melters when properly positioned.

I think China as a civ is very powerful but their bonuses tend to appear boring and simple with just numerical increases. It appeals to me though as they let you pull off some silly stuff against the A.I

All the games Ive played so far Babylon was one I like to return one day, probably my choice if I ever jump to Deity level.

I assume this means "What is your favorite civilization to play as"; and thus I voted for the Iroquois. Otherwise, I would have have to say my favorite civilization were the Greeks.

Greece for me.

Ah yes, I love the Greeks. The Hoplites are awesome! The Unique Ability is great, "if you don't destroy all the city states first" As I one time did :)

Japan. I mean, they're the Japanese. Samurai in the early game, wacky shennanegans by the modern era. What's not to like?

I'm still working on playing through with the different civs, but thus far, i love seafaring with England.
Really love Persia for their golden ages and accompanying movement bonus.

I voted other though, since i like a few of the DLC ones.

Just started a game with Babylon.
It's a silly thing, but i love the colors and unit symbols for them (Babylon).
And the free great scientist + faster great scientists seems like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Korea's science boosts are nice, though the Turtle ship sux balls.
Spain is awesome when you find that early wonder. Tons of gold, yay!

Well Spain has probably moved to number 1 for me, but for the sake of not voting "other" I'm going with the civ I got on my first game. Randomed the USA and had so much fun fighting the crazy Iroquois for hundreds of years using my sight bonus to set up cannon shots on his dozens of cities. I've never replicated that virgin CiV experience again, although every game is fun still over a year later... Trying to break into Immortal difficulty lately and man is it a whole new game over Emperor....

I like the Persian Golden Ages - +1 movement and 10% combat strength. :D
Satrap's Court is also a nice building.
