Anyone for SW:TOR?

Yeah, I'll be there. Played and enjoyed the beta - sure, it's just a EQ/WoW style MMO, but it seems like a damn well made example of that genre, and given that I like those games, and I love Bioware's storytelling....;)

I'm wary about paying a game before being certain I'll actually like it.
So I'm going to wait for a free week, or being able to play at a friend's, or something like that.

I would love to play, except I don't have the money for it. :(

my brother played the beta, it seems heavy on cut scenes (I actually like this), and more story than other mmo's. I generally don't like MMO's because of their addictive quality. I'm still playing world of warcraft, and I can't get off it. :( But I will most likely be receiving this game as a Christmas present.

I'll be there. I was suspect at first but the beta infected me so I pre-ordered and got my hands on an early access code.

Im little skeptical. Theres just so much story more than for example full season of Sons of Anarchy and Star Wars is bit old for me. Yeah, Im gamer not some sofa potato. Probably pick it up when its cheap to test it out.

I'm enjoying ST:O currently, maybe later.

Well I haven't gotten my early access since they're doing staggered early access and since I registered late in December, well there you go

Played on the recent beta weekend and it seemed perfectly like KotOR merged with WoW. I intend to play it at my own pace as a single player game to prevent any uhh, addiction. :)

I'm on it. I pre-ordered it on wenesday and got early access the following night. European servers though.

The quests are awesome. They have cut scenes with multiple choice responses which (I believe) varies the outcome. I've enjoyed it so far. I'm on the fence with the actual fighting and stuff, I think WOW is a bit more responsive and tactile but SW:TOR has it's moments like the leap and stuff.

I'm quite afraid this will still lack involvement and difficulty, considering it's trying to ape WoW and WoW has completely sunk in this regard, though :-/

yeah I'd like to see actual strategy in fights, but I doubt that will happen. MMO's tend to equate difficulty with work. I don't want to grind reputations for hours on end. Things like that don't make a game difficult, it just makes them annoying. They are artificially creating a time sink. As for WOW, I don't mind them reducing the grinding and time sink aspects of their game. I just wish they didn't nerf all the fights. Even the single player game has been nerfed to the point where it's impossible to die (unless you lag or something).

"grinding" has been quite overused.
Investment in a game and goals that requires a lot of time and effort to get are not a bad thing.

I'll wait till it goes free2play.

You killed heroic rag disgustipated?

I haven't raided since the BC days (and briefly after LK came out). I don't have the stable enough internet connection, and time commitment for raiding. Not to mention I tend to get bored of the game after a month of playing. I'm already bored of it now. I renewed a couple weeks before Skyrim came out, played that until Skyrim. I played a little bit more last week, but I have no desire to play tonight. The game is just too much work.

I think in the end, I prefer games that "end". That's my main reservation about this game, and all MMO's in general.

It sure looks quite impressive, 220 server, 650k Facebook fans. Maybe its just me but I see small army assembling. :p
